Title: now here's an odd request: disposal of tansit body
Post by: jonathanh on 28 December 2012, 18:58:23
Hi

I've got a transit luton body, aluminium sides, resting on 4 oil drums.  The floor is pretty rotten.  the thing is I want shot of it with minimum hassle.  what's the best way?

anyone want it?

Get a local scrap yard to pick it up and give you cash, or whatever than can give you now with the new laws. ;)

stick it on ebay at £100 buy-it-now, and it'll be gone within 24hrs.
If you were closer, i'd have taken your arm off with it!

Nope... If it's free people often walk past... Stick £100 (or more) on it and it will be stolen before the end of the day ;D ;D

Not my experience, at my old Uni house we had about 3 rusting fridges in the garage from previous tenants.

I stuck them in the front garden, with "Free to good home" printed on A4, stuck on them. Went to Uni, came back, gone!

That's unusual... Generally (and this is backed up by research somewhere) if it's free people don't always pay attention but put a price and honesty box and they'll have it away quickly :o ::)

They were very old & basically feked. I suspect someone just popped them in back of a transit, then went to weigh them in
