However how do I deal with the airbag and the fact that the seat is electric.

I am going to bite the bullet and try repair the heated seat, fed up of having a cold backside!

unbolt the front or rear of the seat, send it forwards or backwards to reveal the other two bolts, disconnect the battery, go for a brew/smoke/butty while the airbag electrickery winds down. Unbolt seat, unplugthe electrics & then take a very deep breath & lift it out of the car ....... it's bloody heavy!  :y :y

Check resistance by multitester before removing seat.

Thanks chaps!

Think I will give this a go another day as I want a whole clear day to get the seat in and out. I also want to buy a new element for it.

Do NOT turn on ignition with airbag disconnected!

Obviously, not a problem if disconnect battery...  ...though I never bother.

Unfortunately I turned on the ignition when the passenger seat was out when I was repairing the leak, hence airbag light now on.

But yes, I will remember not to do it again.
