Title: Autoglym Aqua Wax
Post by: MarkC on 01 January 2013, 18:18:49
Hi guys.

Firstly Happy new year to you all.  :y

Gave the Meega its first wash of the year today. Used Autoglym Shampoo to wash, then tried this...

Got it for Christmas, absolutley amazing!!

Always like to wash the car more often around this time of the year but I've been struggling to wax and protect it as after I've washed it's either rained before I get chance to wax or it's been too cold to apply and the wax just streaks.

This stuff is fantastic, you just wash the car and rinse, then whilst the car is still wet you spray this stuff on and wipe it dry (along with the water) with one of the Microfibres, then go over again/buff with the other dry Microfibre. No streaks, you can go over everything as well (paintwork, rubber, glass), it's left the car looking like new and done in half the time due to drying and waxing in one go.

No photos as it was dark when I finished, but honestly it's left the car feeling like glass, just looked out at it now (surprise surprise it's raining) but it's beading like a good 'un!!

About £13 for the kit but definitely worth it, I've tried all the top waxes (Poorboys, Chemical Guys, Meguiars and of course AG) but I'll stick to this product, cuts down the time and effort of waxing, plus it smells bloody lovely!!!

Thought I'd share with you guys/gals, interested if anyone else has tried this or any other stuff anyone else uses though.  ;) Cheers.

I use this on my black Omega all year round, and I find it keeps the car looking in tip-top condition in between the more thorough detailing sessions.   :y

Yeah, still got the smell on my hands now, better than them smelling of last night's kebab!!

Cool, Think I'll try it on the Carlton (also black) when the summer season arrives (if we get one this year!!)  ;D

Like a few other things Mark, you're talking me into it  ;D

Have often wondered about this stuff, but obviously it's worth trying. Thanks for the heads up  :y

+1 too. Great for the quick once over without worrying about wet/dry polish streaks. Gets my vote.

Glad this stuff's getting positive feedback, I've been on Detailing World and searched for this and it also has rave reviews (and they're very particular on there).

I think the winning formula is that you're killing two birds with one stone, cutting down the time drying and waxing by combining the two.

And yeah, for you guys who are thinking of trying it, I say go for it (God, I sound like a sales rep for AG [I'm not, honest] but I think it's ingenious, who'd have thought that water and wax would work together and give such great results?) Loving my Mig at the moment, a Summertime sparkle in winter....who'd have thunk it  :y :y

Now you should put a list together of all the cleaning products you have, then write a guide on detailing for the Omega  :y

I went and bought some of this today after reading this post last night - I have to agree that it is very very good and so easy to use!  I didn't go as far as using it on the windows but used it on the paintwork on both my cars and they have some up very well.  Smell is great as well and the cars look like I spent all day on them, ok I admit I did gel the tyres up just to set off the alloys and finish off the look but very impressed with this, £13 well spent,

Cheers for the heads-up :)

Don't think my Omega has had a wash in around 6 months, going to treat it I think next week.

Autoglym Express Wax is the 'Trade' version of the same stuff, a 5 litre bottle comes with 2 microfibre cloths & a free spray bottle for £32.99 plus p/p on the link I found on Google (below) but if you spend another £2 p/p is free! I realise that is a big outlay but when you consider that Aqua Wax retails at around £12 for 500ml you can see the attraction! ::)

That's how I buy it Phil! It's good stuff, I tend to use mostly Autoglym stuff, with the exception of Meguiars tyre gel, which just beats Autoglym's stuff.
My 5lt 'express wax / aqua wax' costs me £24 delivered. I'd be happy to order some for anyone else who wants some.
