Now I've watched this guy on the tube for ages and in all honesty he's a bit of a 'tard. However, is this product or simlar available? I'm thinking that this would also clean out the carbon in the cylinders too, afterall, that's where the cleaner will end up :y

or even this stuff....

original carbon clean procedure takes more than half an hour if I remember correctly.. not sure the amount of fluid in that apparatus will be adequate for proper cleaning.. if we neglect the cars age..
-
the other items may help if used regularly and from young ages of car imo..

this stuff it appears is simply added to a full tank of fuel and away you go. looking at a bunch of reviews people have had some good results....just trying to do as much to avoid spending the dosh on professional sonic cleaning. its only £5.99 a bottle and im going in for some wynns lifter treatment so i'm going to pick some up i think. whats the worst that could happen?? (touches wood, crosses fingers as this is an omega ::) ::) ::) ::) ;D)

sorry cem, just realised you were talking about the video. yeah, it also looks like you need special apparatus. going to go with the wynns option first

We should get shares in wynns ;D

I've used the Wynns injector cleaner over the years - usually about once a year and initially do notice beter response and increased smoothness.
-
I had the injectors on the LC ultrasonicly cleaned when I rebuilt the engine. After a 100k miles the injectors were hardly blocked at all. Modern fuels don't tend to gum the injectors.
-
Wynns, a tank or two of decent fuel and a good thrashing can all help stave off the early symptoms of the dreaded precat codes :y
-
Ultrasonic is the proper way.
Wonder if bro will let me borrow one of his jewellery cleaners ::)

Indeed, and more importantly a decent service will give you a before and after report on flow rate and spray pattern so it will tell you if you did have a problem.
I've only bothered on a rare set I salvaged from a scrap yard, previously fitted to a Volvo with intergalactic miles. Even then, the injectors weren't too bad in the "before" report. They were spot on manufacturer's spec in the "after", though. I certainly wouldn't bother on a car that's getting regular use unless I suspected a problem.

bottle cleaners are meaningful when you use them from the car is new.. but on an aged car they are a waste of money imo..

if the car starts hot starting problem as I experienced discard all of them..

I did used to pop in some Forte once a year when I ran on petrol. Probably still should, esp as the injectors now get little use.
I used to use Redex on the tractor, to help combat Asda diesel ;D
-
Tbh, with the amount of additives in petrol nowdays i'd have thought these fuel treatments would have been extinct :-\
Then again, I do tend to use the full travel of the accelerator :-X :-X
I was told though to get the injector needles re ground after 100,000 miles or so when I had the tractor :-\
True or false ?
