Because it's an Opel and because I'm fanatic of this car, I just want you share my passion.
There were 238164 Calibra produced in the world between 1990 and 1997. Among this production, there were 11898 Calibra V6 2,5L 24v (C25xe & X25xe) produced between 1994 and 1997 in the world. We know there were only 997 Calibra with "Keke Rosberg Edition" produced in the world and only in Germany and Suiss country with V6, 16v, 16v turbo engine. We don't know how many V6 Keke Rosberg edition be produced
The Calibra Keke Rosberg Edition was produced when Opel was running in DTM championship. There's a plate with Keke Rosberg signature on the ashtray, she's equiped of BBS rims, Opel Motorsport sets, specific seats, Irmsher spoiler and frame etc...
I've one of those 997 models, the 927 number. I've bought in Suiss in april of 2010. She is 17 years old with 110000 miles today and remained totally original.
I hnow there is a second Calibra V6 Keke Rosberg Edition in France.

Ooh very tidy. Master will be glad of this too I would think? ;)

Excellent, Thanks for sharing. :y

I always wanted one of those when I was younger.. got to be the first one I've seen in a while without rusty arches, too (common problem over here - and I imagine anywhere that salt is used.. I presume you just keep yours spotlessly clean at all times :) :y)
Very nice!

Whats the Rosberg connection ? Did he drive one in DTM ? He was one of my favourite F1 drivers back in the day, very brave, aggressive but always fair. Won the title in 82,although he only won one race that year.82 was a very strange year for F1 though.

only the early ones suffered from rust on the arches the late V grill models where much better - although the lip of the bonnet did rust - i fitted a 3.0 lump to mine with a lightened flywheel it was a cool car and went well

i've heard of whale tail spoilers, but as an over the top aerodynamic modification, this is taking the piss.
:D
other than that, very nice car mate ;)

Looks very much like the DTM versions we had over here :y

Also very clean.. and I'm trying to figure out which way the trailer is pointing - is it hitched to the back of the Jaguar MkII or just parked behind it?
-
It was towed by the Jag

We got a normal V6 manual for my eldest son. found out it had been stage one chipped so up to 190bhp. it gave 35mpg as it optimised everything. Didnt half go well ;D :y

Right, DTM and Rosberg are the same. Only plate signatures are different.

Yes, rusty arches are a real problem for these cars. after 1994 all Calibra have been protected, in fact, intead of two sheets welded to constitute arches, there has been one more wider sheet. But in some countries where there is lots of rain and snow, arches can still rust. So, to preserve my Calibra, I don't drive it when its' raining. It's my second car, I do less 3000 miles in one year and it's always always clean.

Keke Rosberg has driven Calibra DTM in 1993 and 1994 with others pilots. After this, he made his team, The "Team Rosberg" and managed many pilots. There was an other team created in 1996, the "Team Joest" with Cliff sponsor and the Pilot Manuel Reuters who won the Championship in october 1996. In 1994, Opel Produced DTM & Rosberg Calibra with limited edition and Cliff model in 1996 available with limited edition.
I remember that Keke Rosberg won the title of F1 with points after accident of Gilles Villeneuve and Didier Pironi. It shows that it was a regular pilot.

Of course. Simply the 2,5 with lightened flywheel and the six gear box of the Calibra Turbo it's already furious and as powerful than a Calibra Turbo. I imagine on a 3.0 :o
-
I used to have a 3.0 Cavalier.
It did shift (in a straight line), but being Wrong Wheel Drive, it had pretty useless power. Far too heavy over the front wheels for handling purposes. And that is coming from a massive fan of the MkIII Cav/Calibra. Best car to date I have ever owned (all things considered) was a 2.0 8v (C20NE) Cav Diplomat.
-
I did another conversion last year for some one with a 3.2 and lightened flywheel - it was featured in total vauxhall magazine - nice car and the best V6 (54deg) we built

There's a new member on here that would shock you all if he owned up to the number of 4x4 ,turbo & DTM Calibras he has sitting at home .........Eh Mike ? ;)

Anybody like to guess how I got my user name..... And yes it was the turbo

A great car, nice handling and power delivery in standard form and reliable if properly maintained

I recon it was really a Capri, but you couldn't own up to it ;)
