Title: p1220 fault on a 2003 2.2dti estate
Post by: andyr1980 on 03 January 2013, 15:30:04
Hi All,

Sorry to start with a problem but my knowledge of cars is limited to say the least, so I am in the hands of garages.
I put my car into the garage for a warning light they told me it was the egr valve so i paid to have this replaced. 2 mins down the road car would not rev above 1000rpm and smoked a lot. Back to garage who told me it was coming up p1220 critical malfunction which they had no information on and could not (or did not want to) help me.
Could anyone please give me a clue as to where to take it or what to do. Its a 2003 2.2dti estate.

Thanks

So you took a working car, be it with a warning light on, into a garage. They done some work, now it's not drive able? They then refused to fix it?   >:(  >:(  :o

What a disgraceful garage, take it back and demand the fix it at their cost, they fracked up here!

Bet the EGR needed just a clean, not replaced.

Check the usual, Vac pipes and EGR first.

Also ask for the old EGR valve back  ;)
