All the same , 9195731. The only other one listed is 90305898 which is for Y25TD only so doesn't affect the UK.

Well well, I didn't know they did the idler arm bush separately. Why would they bother?  ???

Because for some peeps changing a bush seems a cheaper option than the whole arm.
eg some just change the upright bush in wishbones :-X

Clearly, but that looks like a real bugger to press out, given the large flange on one end.

Cutting out then pressing in might be easier, if a press is available. Can't see that they'd sell many though.

Should think with a press and the right tool would pop out. :-*

Don't suppose you've got an old arm lying around, Chris? I fancy seeing how easy (or not) it is to press out with the baby press in the garage for a giggle :)

Ok I lied. As i was in the garage anyway, i thought i'd get the bats out.

Car5car your not wrong. :y

Socket and a hammer to remove. I don't think it will be quite so easy to get the new one in without damage though.

Master?

One big socket supports wishbone, smaller one is on top of bush. Hit upper one by hammer.
Problem is to find sockets of right size for the job.
I used tool kit for ball joint replacement, they have many short pipes (cylinders) of different sizes. It was kit for ball joints, pressed in wishbones.
Grease new bush before installing.

Freeze the insert and get the outer mega hot......will slide in with close to no force.

Submerge when fitted to cool and protect the bush

Saves braking the ball joint if it can be heated and replaced on the car?

I would be concerned for the ball joint with the heat in the arm, guess it depends how much it needs heating to get it to fit

...and get the old one out. :-\

hmmm, I guess it depends how much the bush is, if its worth bothering with at all.

New idler arm turned up here today, shipped direct from ZF...  ...so I guess AGP don't always hold stock.

A quick Google of the part number suggests it to be about twenty quid.
Which is less than half the price of the complete arm. I would have been tempted by that and a couple of minutes with the press.
I can't imagine attempting to change the bush with it on the car, just to avoid splitting a ball joint.
When I changed the idler on my 525, the bush was £10, a pattern arm £14, and a Lemforder arm £18. At those prices, it simply wasn't worth the effort, and I bought the decent arm.

i guess it depends what tools are available too. I've seen some people struggle with some properly seized ball joints.

Nope... If yours moves it's knackered ;)

There should be ZERO vertical play. Very slight flex probably won't cause much Argo though.
