I bet if it'd been their own car, they'd have made an instant recovery! (Although it's not the first time I've heard of it happening. )

How futting for that poor Women though just imagine if that Vectra was one of our Omegas my heart would sink if they told me they had to turn it into a 5 door convertible :P actually..... ::) ;D
But seriously though id be gutted if i was in her shoes like most of us would specially if theyve had the car for a while and its in good nick and good mechanical health.

I wouldn't let it happen, of all the things to do >:(.

I Dont think i could to be honest :(

Who's going to cover the cost of that? The way I see it is, she'll have to claim off of her insurance, which'll push her premium up! Unbelievable.
-
It's a direct result of the accident so the claim should go to the guilty party, but no doubt it won't >:( >:(

Even the police aren't immune, have a look at this;

Unfortunately there is the chance that it may just be an "Ambulance Chaser" type claim too >:( ::)
-
It helps the ambulance chasing solicitiors if their clients "had to have the roof cut off" to be exctricated from the vehicle. ::)
Haha,great minds (or fools ?) :D
-
"we can only aspologise for the inconvenience..."
You couldn't make that up, sadly.
-
similar thing happened to 1 off our sales reps, brand new vectra on a 09 plate, only a month old, gave a person a lift to hospital, for some reason, she couldnt move,so out come the fire brigade and remove the roof off the car, lets just say branch manager was fuming ....
-
If you refuse, can they go ahead and destroy your car without your permission?

There was one recently where they were in their own vehicle & the decision was made to remove the roof to get them out! A miracle happened & they found that weren't actually that hurt! ::) ::) ;D

I think I commented on something similar a while back. I went to a 2 car RTC, Corsa versus Accord. Fairly minor bump but the Corsa came off worse, the driver of it, got out and ran down the road to her boyfriends house to summon him. The pair returned moments later in his Subaru Imprezza. She then stated she had neck / back pain so an ambulance was summoned, who after examining her stated she would have to be 'extracted' from the vehicle :o :o :o Only when the fire bobbies got there and it was explained to boyfriend what was about to happen, he spoke to her (well shouted using a few expletives) and she got out ;D ;D ;D

One of them I'll never forget Andy, had all us emergency services in stitches ;D
However, its standard procedure where paramedics think that there is a potential risk of back / neck injuries, rightly so too. Just unfortunate that some undesirables take advantage of it.

They would still cut it off ;D
-
I can just imagine the pair of them sat in the back and when the initial shock had faded, one said to the other " Compo!!! " ::) >:(
-
I love my car too much. I'd have kicked them out

I'd have held the Emergency Services at bay with my walking stick while I skull dragged the pair of breakless lying b*stards out of the car with my last breath rather than have them cut off my roof, and i'm not bloody joking either! >:(
'breakless' ???
What is it with this tossing Word Filter! breakless ......F E C K L E S S is a genuine word meaning Unthinking & Irresponsible FFS! I blame the bloody Irish for this travesty ;D ;)

They got into the car under their own steam without getting paralysed, so they could bloody well get out under their own steam as well 8)
....or they would be getting hurt 8)
