Post by: tunnie on 08 January 2013, 17:16:29
Amount of junk you have to take for Europe these days...

Haynes Book bllox, First Aid Kit, Fire Extinguisher, High Vis Vests (these 2 inside car), Jump leads, warning triangle, bulb kit, headlight adapters & pair of breathalysers. As I've got them also taking set of chains. Although already have winter tyres.

In addition to above, taking:

Halfords 150 set, as space is not really at a premium. Sods law I'll need one spanner/socket i leave behind. Also taking breaker bar, pliers, screwdrivers, box of spare fuses, known good spark plugs, spare coil pack & my LPG adaptors.

Paperwork wise, all insurance docs and my log book.

Most of this will sit behind the LPG tank  :)

Just need to fit all my snowboarding and mates Ski gear in now  ::)

Top up your Halfords set, and take some screwdrivers.

BTW, have you found your missing 8mm 1/4" socket yet, up the drive or around the road? I have a rattle, but its from inside the cabin, so not your socket ;D

Would pop a trolley jack in as well :y

Will be quicker, and therefore safer should you need to fit the chains or change a wheel :y

Taking screwdrivers shown, think I need to take more?  :-\

Did look on the road and around the drive, nothing found  :(

Not yet, should really. But as I've got winter tyres and i'm staying on main roads don't think i'll need them really.

Condoms?

...oh, hbv? :-\

Don't think MrsT would take too kindly to that  ;)

Never actually changed a HBV before  :-[

Is there a certain sensor missing from the list ???  I thought all V6 owners carried one and a suitable torx screwdriver .....   :)

Not taking that thirsty V6, taking the 2.2 as its half the cost to fuel!  :)

Have a damn good look around the cooling fan covers Mark, I found my 12mm socket when it got shook loose over a 'Sleeping Policeman' & went through the bleedin' radiator! A definate case of the Sh*t hitting the fan! ::) ;D

Oh, & BTW, are you not taking any spare sensors, the usual culprits spring to mind  ??? :D

Should have all the car documents ;)

I'd photocopy D/L, Passport, breakdown cover cert and all insurance paperwork so you have copies too ;)

Not really... Gives a little backup if anything is lost/stolen or collected by a dodgy Gendarme ;)

Thanks all, yes going to take all documents.

Will check fan area  :y

Topped up PAS fluid today as that was mega low, changed brake fluid, flush through with fresh & topped up coolant. (first time in around 4k)

I thought I had a spare cam sensor, although it was nackered anyway.

Thought about it, got one. But we will have a boot full of winter gear, thermals, snowboarding jackets, boots & trousers. Should keep us warm if needed :)

ALL docs needed. If you do have to produce docs for car at any time you'll need it.
