Title: Photo and USB video clip viewer for an OAP.
Post by: Varche on 09 January 2013, 10:23:29
Any techno people out there that can recommend a simple to use device for a non technical , non Internet pensioner?

The idea is that the offspring around the world can send USB sticks with photos and short video clips of stuff like grandchildren for perusal and then mail the USB sticks back for more.

This from Currys does photos but not Mpegs. http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/sandstrom-s08dpf11-8-digital-photo-frame-black-09949616-pdt.html

Put them on an SD card if the TV has a port

or have them sent (email etc) to someone who can put on DVD which can be played over and over when required, we did this with FIL as there no need for any additional skills - most OAP's can put a DVD in - Sorted  :y

Thanks, Never thought of using the DVD player. It is new so must have some ports. Also putting films on DVD.

Will get someone in the UK to have a look at TV as well. :y

Your welcome  :)

If the dvd player is new it will likely be able to play discs with jpg etc files on the disc as a slideshow instead of having to put a s-show on the disc. Well worth getting someone to look at that well

HTH as well
