Title: Caravan Clubbers......
Post by: Debs. on 03 May 2008, 09:43:31
`Just returned from a walk down to the village with the doggies and discovered that the Caravan Club seem to be having a large meeting at the local camping-site field....`dozens of `em; some really beautiful `vans  (but not a Miggy towcar in sight).
I stopped to chat, `nice people; but the atmosphere seemed to being spoilt somewhat by an overly animated, loud chap whom appeared to be the camp-site equivalent of 'Alan Partridge' organising them into precise rows and planned-activities...as they say: "There`s always one...!"  ;D

my folks are avid caravan owners.
There is a standing joke that every site they go to, there is the retired colonel type, who wears a shirt & tie on holiday, marking people for their dirty caravans.

I help out with the scout section (practicaly run it as the leader is a waste of space)

Reached the point where I thought I had taken out enough over my younger years and decided to put something back.

Sadly, the modern day culture treats such organisations as a creche so they can go and toss about in a gym for an hour or so......what a sad world we live in  :-[

I was in the scouts for a while, didn't like it. So I joined the brownies instead, that was much more fun :y

Hmmmm......not very good training for later life. Young lads should be taught that there are times and places for women..........I wouldn't allow one in my shed!

It works quite well.....the lads go and fetch the food, light the fire and pitch the tents and the girls wash up, cook and clean.... ;D ;D
