Title: fault codes
Post by: mantagte on 02 May 2008, 20:08:17
hi all
whilst servicing my 2.0 16v 1995 omega i thought id do a paper clip test to see if there are any codes stored
it came back with 33 and 92
was surprised to find any as the car runs perfectly
92 is if i read the simtec 56.0 list in technical info correctly is camshaft sensor is this faulty or a false code as i thought when this goes the car would not run.
but what is 33? cannot find any information about this code
cheers

Interesting.

Cam belt been changed recently, all tensioned up correctly?

The 33 I dont recognise so might be worth just re-flashing the codes to ake doubly sure.

Just re-checked the Gm reference file......33 is not listed :-[

The closest is the very early setups where the 33 refers to a Map sensor......but the 4 pot does not have one!

If the car is running fine, why pay to get it checked? It's 13 years old and it could just be a gremlin. If Mark says there aint no such code, then a garage is unlikely to be able to help.
Could charge you a few bob for trying though.
