Went to a rolling road last night and the omega ran 137bhp.. i always thought the car was a bit slow but just assumed.. heavy car plus 19" alloys.
they are suppose to be 207bhp standard? correct me if im wrong. so why the hell would it be this slow ha. the guy i bought it off said it was always as fast as it is now... the headgasket went and everything was rebuilt and the timing all done with the proper kit etc and it still hasnt got any faster.
so my thoughts are : cats blocked? would this cause 70bhp loss?
egr?
ill get the timing re checked by someone else..
not sure what else?!
it also hunts a bit on idle but not sure if thats related?
Thanks... any suggestions that can help or that i can take a look at much appreciated. :y

Was the 137hp at the wheels or the flywheel? Automatic transmission on your car or manual?
-
137 was at the flywheel but then vauxhaulls quoted 207 is also at the fly?
and its a manual :)
it just feels a bit flat... it struggled on the dyno near the top end of the rev range
-
Just checking :y You may or may not know but trying to get a figure from an automatic on a rolling road is a bit of a guessing game (then again, so is approximating flywheel figures from wheel figures - but they usually air on the side of optimism rather than pessimism like yours!)
Are your multirams working (though I thought that made it flat at the bottom, not the top)?
-
ok.... what are they haha .
im mechanically minded and can tell you alot about turbo VAG engines and most jap engines.. but the only vauxhall iv fiddled with was a 2.2 diesel so its all a bit new ha.

Technical info there - without a Tech2 or diagnostic system that can actuate the valves 'at will' then the test procedure is to rev the car (hard) via the throttle cable (lucky you, DBW on later cars makes that hard ;D) while watching the valves to ensure they move..
-
ahhhhh... right well i know the front one works becuase i was wandering what the hell it was last night... not sure about the other but ill give them a check tonight :)
-
Fuel filter ok.
-
thats one thing im not sure has been done... they in the bay on these or under the car?
-
Under the rear drivers side just behind the diff ;)
-
thank you... ill get me one of them too ha
-
If you got 137 at the flywheel how much did you get at the wheels? :P
Any faultcodes?
Have you got the dyno graph?
I ran my car this fall and got just under 200 at the hubs (though with some modifications)
-
Blocked exhaust? What's fitted?
-
Any silly aftermarket air filters?
-
I don't suppose they had a probe in the exhaust at the rolling road? Be interesting to see what the AFR was doing during the run.
-
did you had any work done on engine?
how long you have this car for
maybe someone fit 2.5 v6

Dunno, 2.5 is still good for 170bhp + ? :-\ Unless it's from Dundee then it's 600bhp

but if multiram not working then will be about right
600bhp @ 2K rpm ::)

Handbrake on, ignition in off position
-
yes - was thinking multiram
-
there is a big silly air filter on it.... do they not like them?!?! was trying to find a standard air box
-
Standard induction setup will always work best.I would advise to revert to that and see how it goes. :y
It might be worth posting a pic of what you have at the moment. ;)
