..... is that a wind up? ???

You can put what you want on the back/side/front of your car. Just so long as you tell your insurance & up date your V5 if you do actually alter what's under the bonnet/etc ;)
I used to have V6 badges on the side of my Cortina MKIII ...... they didn't make it go any faster though  ;)

Well, thats 'dangle berries', as all the kids with their Saxo Turbos around here reckon that sticking the badge on makes the car like an F1 car. Init.

I did the opposite. My 2.0 MKIII was badged as a 1.6. Gave me great childish pleasure matching other 2.0's and leaving other 1.6's behind  :-[ :-[.........until one day when I came across a MKII Savage ......and lost.   :-[ :-[ ::) ::)

My MG Montego Turbo was not badged as a Turbo either, which caught a few people out.  ;) ;) :) :)  Oh dear, I've just said out loud that I had a Montego.  :-[ :-[ ;D ;D

I had one too! With knackered shocks, bushes wheel bearings and tyres it was way too powerful for the chassis. That was once I'd fixed the blown head gasket/warped cylinder head, which was why it was only £100 in the first place. I still don't understand the slagging that Montegos still get; as a car it compares pretty well to a mk2 Cavalier or Sierra. Its main competitors!

Yeah, but they went like the clappers. Until:

1) a corner
2) a gust of wind blew out the oxides of iron.

Must admit, it was a good car to me for the five years that I owned it. I bought mine new and it served me well. Sold it to my B-I-L, who owned it for another four trouble free years   :y
Went well but the torque steer was 'entertaining'.  :o :o

The Cosworth Badge on the back of my Sapphire was magnetic so it could be removed when parked up. I did make some 1.6LX magnetic ones to go on the back if the mood ever took me.  ;)

Mr Carter who owns Omegatoys old omega "shed" still has the 2.0 16V badge on the boot. It has full Lotus Carlton mechanicals in it.

So gave him a smile and said he confused me with someone who gave a **** He left promptly - my next door neighbour thought that was out of order and why not come to me instead of complaining :y
