Title: Tablet buying advice .........
Post by: I_want_an_Omega on 19 January 2013, 12:17:44
I'm after a tablet with the following spec:

10" screen
WiFi only (dont want sim card ability)
GPS
Able to run Citrix client for work stuff

Not mega fussed about memory size as will essentially be used for surfing

Any ideas as am confused by what's on offer and cant see GPS listed as a feature on many.

Thanks

I guess that would depend on weather your Citrix client supports the operating system of the tablet you want.

Ipad fits all the above, but can't tell if your Citrix client supports iOS.

You may need a windohs supported tablet I guess, but I have no experience there.

There was a guy at work, just getting into techy stuff, bought a kindle hd fire as it was cheaper than ipad.

But he wanted a tablet to specifically to play sky go.

He didn't realise sky go was not available for kindle fire hd, so practically waisted his money buying the wrong tablet.

If you want a specific application on a tablet, you need to buy a tablet that plays it.

Citrix Receiver on most popular mobile OS, including iOS.

Personally, its more geared up to occasional use, rather than permenent usage.  Also, I think remote drive mapping is missing...
