Hi all
Have just bought a 2002 3.2 elite v6 with lpg conversion. It's lovely!!!!
However, only has one key. A 2 button job.
What is the cheapest way to get a spare as I know I'll soon lose this one.
I have got a spare 2 button key from a previous omega but obviously the key wont fit.
Thanks

Buy the key un programmed and uncut from a dealer. Get it cut at any locksmith, not timpson.
Then give it to h21 to programme. Must have the car pass.

If you think you can manage till the annual meet at Newent, then I'm sure that someone there wil have the means to programme a new key fob to your car. :y
Other than that, it's taking a tub of Vaseline to your local Vauxhal dealer :o

A local locksmith recently quoted me £65 to supply and code a 2 button remote. That was while you wait, he had them in stock. The local Vauxhall dealer want at least 3 days for the same job.

Will see how much Vauxhall want for the unprogrammed key. I am assuming that I am buying the whole key with 2 button fob and can't use my old electronics on the spare I have?
By 'the car pass' do you mean the little white card with VIN and radio code etc? As I have this.
Thanks and best regards

How do I contact h21? Can't see him on members list.
Thanks

H21 = Hotel21. Your nearest OOF tech 2 is probably Kevin Wood in Alton Hampshire, which isnt very near at all.Although Im guessing you can send the key rather than take it personally,so if thats the case Kevin,H21,The Boy or MarkDTM could all be options.

As Andy says I've miss read your location, sorry. Hotel21 is in Scotland. Which doesn't help.
There is TheBoy in Brackley, or Kevin Wood in Alton, and Markdtm in Nottingham. They all have tech2 that can programme your key transponder to that cars ecu, and remove any old key codes that may be in there.
They will need to the key, car pass details and the car all present at the same time with tech2 to do the job.
There is an anual meet in Newent, I think that's in September though, which might be closer for you..? There will almost certainly be a tech2 there.

Buy key horseshoe, with transponder, for around £10 delivered on ebay. If your local key cutter refuses to cut it (because they didn't supply the key at their inflated prices), try another.
If its a 2 button fob (ie, PFL, or facelift estate), these are usually robust enough to buy 2nd hand (unlike the 3 button ones), but be aware, there are several, indentical looking, incompatible types. Or buy from dealer - 3 button ones are around £30 trade from dealer (try AndyC).
Then it needs programming. I'd entrust this to a Tech2 - some of the popular, illegal code readers with the supposedly capability do make a mess of the alarm ECU. A carpass is required.

'Fraid not. Car is required, and I imagine the Royal Mail charges on posting an Omega would be impressive ;D

I had a key cut at Timpsons they said they would do it but would not guarantee it would work . Mine worked perfectly I got the blade on Fleebay. And had it programmed at main dealer for £26.79 2010 bit more now I bet.
