Apologies if this has been covered previously but can someone advise how to access the cabin by climbing through the boot? Key broke off in door (lock jammed) but I did open boot successfully. Battery disconnected so can't use remote keyfob. Doh! Thanks in advance!

The best way is to force the centre arm rest down then put your arm through and press the release catch on the top of the rear seat

Had to do this on the old 2.5 some while back ... if memory serves I did ..
Very firm "SMACK" on the centre portion of the seat backrest to open up the "ski hole" as we called it.
Once that was opened get an arm through and feel up to the back rest release button, press down and push the seat back forward.
Once that was forward crawl through the hole and lift the locking tab on a back door.
All you have to do is then crawl out and go see a chiropractor !!!!!!!!

Did either of you damage the centre arm rest fixings? Keen to undertake the task without breaking any clips or fasteners etc. Thanks for the advice!

I tend to leave the Ski Hole cover unlocked yust incase

I managed it from my Senator's boot many years ago. I'm sure I managed to maniplulate the seat latch to drop it down.
It was over 10 yrs ago now so can't exactly remember what I did. :-\

Mine was done up .. but a sharp but firm smack it popped open with no long term damage .. although I do admit to some worry at the time ... eventually I decided a new "ski cover" would be cheaper than a locksmith .... :)

I'd apply some battery voltage across the boot light - that way you'll be able to use the key fob to unlock the car without forcing anything.

That's how I got into my deadlocked Omega when no amount of persuasion would open the car with the key. ;)

That sounds like a nifty idea esp as my boot is full! Can you elaborate a bit? What did you use, the regular car battery? And where/how did you connect it? Instructions gratefully appreciated!

Pop the boot light out .....don't short it against the bodywork though - the fuse is inside the car ::). Remove the wires & connect them to A N Other battery - red to +ve & black to -ve. Your fob should now open your car.

Glad to see that you're keeping up at the back Nige ........ just testing! ::) ::)
Just hope that the postive battery connection isn't resting againt the body then if this method is used. ;)

I connected a battery to my starter motor to do the same thing ok if you cant get into the boot. I used my small 12 v battery off my golf trolley.

Hmmn it won't be against the body as there is no battery in there but I guess it might be resting against the battery tray... hmmn maybe a boot to the rear armrest is gonna be my best bet after all?! ;D

electrically it's the same thing ;)

If your concerned that the + terminal maybe resting against the tray (-) measure it first with a multimeter for open or short before connecting the battery. :y
