It brings back images of the old XXXX lager advert with the sherry.

Not for me, you could fill holes in the road with that stuff.

But the proper draught stuff in Ireland...... ;D

I could be persuaded.

I work for UDV, who own Guinness, I get it for much cheapness!

Shame I dont like the tinned stuff. :-/

So you work for Guinness FRIEND
It's the real Dublin stuff that I'm talking about, I play with a Band over there from time to time & simply live on the stuff for days
Bumped into Ronnie Wood in the Brazen Head one time & we drank a few that afternoon!
Canned stuff will do in an emergency!  ;)

Sainsbury's have a deal on at the moment.  Choose three of the following, Stella, Carling or Magners for £20.  So I came home yesterday with 45 bottles of Stella for £20.  Guess the sunshine being out made me think I might need some beers over the next few days...

Mr Hagon.

they sell wine too :y

Sorry to sound like a snob but, as I recall they only sell one or two bottles I would call wine... the rest is just fermented grape juice....

Remember producers keep the good stuff for the home market and export the pish to Britain.

Oh and Phil_her_up, here in Germany I have just bought an 18 x 500ml pack of Erdinger ( a very nice Weissbeer ) for 20€ which included a 5€ deposit on the bottles which I get back once I am suitably sober enough to return them   ;)

18 pints for 15€ (12 quid) and normal price too :y

And how is Mrs Hagon?
In the Police, Stella is known as 'Wife Beater' on account of the number of domestic incidents resulting from it's consumption ;)

Tesco had a deal on a rather nice Rioja last time I was there....    half price, down to 4.99  .
I bought 6 bottles...

VERY nice it was too!

i have NEVER understood what people like about lager....  ANY lager, no matter where it's brewed.. they're all vile.

used to be a beamish drinker...  but got hooked on Caffrey's when it first came to Wales...  back in about 1992-3 or so....

worst thing they ever did was reduce the strength , apparently so southern english pansies didn't get so wrecked....  ;)

it's still a great pint though.... but sadly rather rare on draught...

Now there's a man with taste
Rioja & Beamish
I still have a small Beamish sticker on one of my Melodeons, collected at the Old Dungeon Gill in the Lakes many years ago
