When car is low on petrol hard to drive its keeps stalling and when petrol is put in its goes slightly better but still hold back when driving have to keep accelator at a steady rave for to drive. any ideas? Fuel filter changed no difference

Had it on computer it said cylinder 1, 2 & 3 down but problem fixed and still experiencing same problem

What were the actual codes? Missfire?

It doesn't happen often nowadays but blocked fuel tank breathers often caused symptoms like yours years ago.
Next time it happens pull over (leave engine running) and try unscrewing the filler cap. If there as a gasp and it sucks a load of air in then the plastic breather pipe may have been crushed somewhere under the car.

Yep, could also be a problem with the charcoal canister or purge valve.
Failing that, go back to basics. Try a new fuel filter if it hasn't been changed recently If it's still sensitive to level it might be worth checking the flow rate from the fuel pump.

Thanks everyone your comments we thought it was something to do with fuel pump but the mechanic we using seems to think its coil pack! so needed some advice any ideas how much money to replace fuel pump?????

You really need to get codes re-read and post up what they actually are, this needs to be done first before changing any parts.
