Hi all.
My rear tyres need replacing but I can't afford the £140 for new ones. Is anyone selling any part worn tyres or wheels and tyres? My front ones are fine. The size is 225/55/R16.
It would be great if I could find some matching wheels with tyres for the rear. Thanks very much! :y
Here is a pic of my mig.

You'd be better off trying a local part worn tyre place rather than paying for possible postage on wheels and tyres/tyres

I thought about that but this article put me off.

But surely that would apply to all second hand tyres and it's a chance you take

Or even the tyres that are on your car now. Unless you bought them new I presume they were on the car when you bought it

Yes they were.
I think I will give part worn a try then if you think it's ok?

I've got a few stacked here off the cars i've broken and i'll be using them when the existing ones have worn out :y

I wanted another Enduro, to go with an odd one I have. I found this on ebay:-
"225 55 R16 99W Runway Enduro 916
1 of part worn tyre available with approx 8 mm tread"
Won it for £36.00, and that was including p&p, my local tyre fitter fitted it for free! :y
You should be careful if you don't know the history of a tyre, but as said, the ones on your car are unknown too.

Kate,
if you want to go the part worn route then may i suggest that you give GW BRIDGES CAR DISMANTLERS a try thet are located just off the A/M23 AT PEASE POTTAGE, OLD BRIGHTON RD, VERY NEAR TO THE SERVICES.
They check all the tyres before they are selected for their tyre bay and have over the years used them many times, i know it is a bit of a distance but can recommend them. They are open every day EXECEPT SUNDAY.
Worth giving them a call to see if they have your size in stock as some of the larger sizes can be a bit thin on the ground..

Thanks very much that's very kind of you. :y
I've emailed GW Bridges and I'll let you know what they say.

If you're an hour twenty from Billy Bridges, then you can only be half an hour from Steve at Heathrow :-\

Used tyres are always a slight risk, but offer quite large savings. I don't push my tyres that hard, in terms of handling or pulling large weights.
So I was quite happy for £100 for 4x CDX Alloys with Kumo 31's attached with 6mm tread, instead of £70-100 per corner, £25 is huge difference.
But, you need to be near and be able to collect. As postage is not really an option, keep you eye out for breakers here. Then try and get OOF postal service if you can.
Its better to try and source them a few months before you actually need them, sods law when you need them, nothing will be around. But once you've bought new tyres, there will be loads of available :y
