Title: Hi - About to buy
Post by: viper357 on 07 February 2013, 15:20:12: Hi all, glad to be here.

I'm going to look at a 2001 3.2 Omega tomorrow morning, very keen on buying it so thought I'd join a forum before I do.

Are there any things I should look out for before buying it? I've had a look around the forum but difficult to search for things like this, thanks. :)

Any threads on this car that you can give me links for would be much appreciated. If I buy the car tomorrow then hopefully I'll be an active member on the forum, I've been working on cars all my life so although I'm not a qualified mechanic, I know my way around an engine, having said that, still got lots to learn. ;)

Worn wishbone bushes (excessive play)
cam cover gaskets failed
knackered precats

All are easy fixes, and relatively cheap if you are handy with spanners.

Ensure all warning lights work, and do a "Pedal Trick"

Yip, I brought her home with me, she has a couple of minor faults which are fixable so I'm happy. Looking forward to doing some work on it and cleaning it up, first up will be a good service.

I've been reading the forum and need a couple of things cleared up please, I've read mention of Omega B and I think it was Omega B2, what is the difference? Also I've seen "facelift" mentioned a few times, what does that mean?

Post by: viper357 on 09 February 2013, 08:08:20: Nevermind, I found the answer I think. According to this thread - http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90440.0 I have an Omega B Facelift because it is a 2001 model with the window switches on the drivers door. :)

p.s. How much longer before I can stop entering the image verification thing?
