My 3.0 V6's coil pack is playing up, and I had a look on ebay for a replacement, there are a lot around the £30.00 mark but are they any good??? as I know the genuine ones are around the £180.00 from the dealer

Interesting. Looks like this Dis Pack might also fit my 2.5 (2.5 litre Facelift Elite - 2000 reg) as mine is definitely and suddenly totally miss-firing (I think on 2 pots - but have not had time to check but it feels like it - rough at idle and pull away up to 2.5k revs and underpowered). I presume then that it is one set of the three coils probably gone bust!
Done 60 or 70 miles on short journeys with the miss-fire, it starts and idles still at 500 rpm once warm but it feels worse than just one cylinder gone.
Can anyone confirm the Bosch one in the e-bay add in the post above is the correct Dis pack for my car as I thought there might be variations and need to take it off first to check which one, or is it universal for facelift 2.5's?
Needed urgently as the car is needed for hospital runs, can't spend days off road. SO ideally need to buy the part and then install in one go.
Car has done 97.5k miles so probably time for dis pack probs, and it is now only doing 13 MPG.
No engine management light on, and my Autel GS500 code reader shows up no codes at all.
Thanks.

Don't know about the different coils, but your reader is OBDII & your car is NOT. ;) A paper clip will read your car's diagnostics. :y

I have done the paperclip test today. The only codes i get (with car either running or not) are:-
1.4.5
1.4.4
In that order.
(I get the same codes with the car not running but also the standard 3.1 code which was expected).
What are these 1.4.5 and 1.4.4 codes. As said before it feels like two cylinders misfiring completely but the guide on here (this site) says a 145 and 144 code is immobiliser signal problems - which seems to me to be daft given the circumstances!
What is correct? Please tell me what the paper clip codes of 1.4.5 and 1.4.4 above mean?
If they are misfires then does that confirm my diagnostic of a dis pack gone?
Thanks.

If no one knows then let me know in any case.

The paperclip test won't tell you of a miss fire on your Omega

Immobiliser codes never self delete, then need a capable code reader to remove them.
They could be there for nothing more serious than the car seeing another chip from another key on you keyring at some point in the dim and distant past. If it runs...dont worry about them :y

Coil pack listed fits both 2.5 and 3.0 from approx 1998.5 onwards.
Be very aware that driving with a miss fire will damage the cats
