Reset the MID and see what happens on your next trip. If i reset the MID whilst sitting in traffic it can show anything from 7.8mph on a long wait.

ive noticed with my 2.2 if i get bp petrol i average around 17 - 18mpg around town driving but if i get shell fuel i average around 19-20 i dont know if its just me sometimes or the fuel is different but like some one said above every time i reset mine after refueling mine stays on 7.8mpg for a while.  :y

I just part-ex'd my 2.2 on Tuesday, but when I did the average fuel consumption was showing 28.8.  This had dropped from 30.2 over winter.

Whats those 2 little icons in the bottom left corner of the mid? the one that looks like a phone and the circle one?

2.2 auto - average so far this winter (not from MID but calculated by me) 22mpg. Vast majority of that is town driving. So would say do your own MPG calculation on next tank and if it 12mpg you have an issue.

i feel somewhat relieved from the fact all the 2.2 drivers are saying 22mpg town driving. and im getting 19.5mpg round town from my 2.5v6.

i have actually swapped out my maf and MID instant cons. looks a lot healthier. going to do the brim to brim to see if its had any effect

I've reset it and it still about the same :(

the mid changes every second virtually... were you putting the engine under load (like going up hill, just starting off etc) when you took the piccy?

Take it for a drive on a main road say a duel carriageway and see what it changes to

if you want a repeatable test you can compare have a look at my mpg thread http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=108869.msg1362683#msg1362683 (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=108869.msg1362683#msg1362683) It's for a V6 manual though.  If you try it add your figures to the thread.
