Title: Track rods, where to buy?
Post by: kcl on 14 February 2013, 06:30:26
Crawled under my car and was shocked  :o Had replaced both track rods last summer, been driven some 2-3000 km since and ALL ball joint rubbers were split! Will neverever use pattern parts in steering! BUT... are there any other known good sources for track rods than dealers?

Have so far found Lemförder, TRW and Delphi branded ones, price goes acc to this order so I assume Lemförder is the best but are TRW any good?

Don't buy Delphi or Firstline, and you won't go far wrong :y

I assume LHD and RHD Omegas have the same track rods?

Thought so, just wanted to confirm

Two different versions available, which one would fit MY2002 car?

If you are given a choice of chassis numbers, go with the later one :y

eg 'To X91999989' or 'From X91999990' then the 'From' :y one is the one you want

Thanks for all the replies. Seems I'll be getting TRW, can someone comment the quality of these?

I know, Lemförder is the one but postage is some 40 euros from allgermans  :-\
