Was the Omega sold in Austrailia ?? , if so , what was it called ?? . The Commodore looks quite close to the general shape !!

it was indeed the holden commadore, I've got an auzzie collegue who had one at home.(been helping me with my miggy!! 8-)

I seem to recall after not long joining the OOF, there was some discusion on Omega's in Oz. If my memories correct, they where the same shape, but wider or longer. The police had a liking for them, because they ran V8's.
Though i'm sure a member with more knowledge than me will be along soon :y

I believe that the South African market had V8 ford Sierras called XR8 and before that 3.0 Mk5 Cortinas called XR6. Someone correct me if I am wrong. :-/

Fantastic car. I loved my Calibra, excellent on fuel & went pretty well too. Owned her for six years (longest i had a car). Mine was built in Finland which i thought at the time was wierd

australia do a current Holden Omega which is an absolute bog standard VXR8, and i mean bog standard as in 15" steel wheels with wheel trims and no spoiler!

The Commodore Omega is at the cheaper end of the range but can be bought for less than £14k (at todays exchange rate) Standard motor is 3.6 V6 ecotec and although basic does have.....
