Title: Gonads new shed needs ............
Post by: tigers_gonads on 21 February 2013, 19:13:14
The gearbox oil changing (I think) :y

I've got a p1700 code (if you read back abit)
The box seams slow to change up and down and if the oil is anything like the engine oil, it will be black and half empty  >:(

Had a word with the main dealer when I picked up my nice new box of oil and they tell me that the gearbox is a sealed unit and never needs touching  ;D ;D(merchant banker sign)  :D
Also Dextron 3 is only sold by the 1ltr and is 9 quid +vat  :'(

Now i've been forced to use a auto box (yes i'm aproaching middle age), any advise on these wierd self changing contraptions welcome  ;D ;D :y

Yes, leave your left leg at home. You won't need it. Then just sit back and enjoy gearchanges without all that faff. If you feel the need to take your left leg with you, tie it to the seat runner or sit on it, you still won't need it.

Can get Dex III in 5 lits from Halfords.

There's no drain on the autobox only a filler/level plug.
To empty either suck old atf out through filler or better drop sumps and clean filters as well.

Believe there's a howto  :y
