Does the discount / voucher work at the parts counter?

The small print reads a bit like they only apply if te garage are doing work on te car.

Would be great to know :-)

Wording on voucher.
Voucher can be redeemed against the rrp+vat of genuine Vauxhall parts, labour or accessories..

The line referring to service and repair work refers to the 15-25% discount which you get for being a service club member.

I'm going to try to use mine to get £40 off a set of front wiper blades tomorrow. I think they're about £50 ish. If they won't accept it I, too, will be complaining.....to the ASA and trading standards.

I've just had a conversation with a parts/service guy from E/H in Wakefield. He tells me that masterfit are a totally different franchise from evans halshaw. The price structure for labour is totally different and they will not be accepting masterfit vouchers so far as he knows, although he will look into it further. They have had no communication from vauxhall about this offer. So not looking good.
When I did a search for masterfit garages in my area, five came up, all evans halshaw, who don't want to play.

He also mentioned the stupid idea of printing off vouchers. As he said, what's to stop you going to five different dealers in one day. I said that most people were honest but there is one particular scally on this forum who might do just that.

And would have absolutely no qualms in doing so  ;)

I thought he was joking about the wipers  ???

Are the vouchers themselves not coded? Although that would assume the dealer will take a record of it. To prevent multiple usage ......... wish I'd thought of that  :D

Yeah. They're two different sizes, either 24"+22" or 22"+20". Anyway, when I mentioned that's what I was after, he told me to come down and he'd put them on the local taxi firms trade account number.
I got some off ebay for about £12, but they judder.

Further update. Parts dept. rang this morning and said they will be accepting the vouchers but will have to set the systems up first. Apparently people have been using the voucher more than once.

Expect a knock on the door, Jon.  ;D

Bit cleverer than that Ste, friends and neighbour's have all taken advantage, they just don't know it yet ;D

Off I went to Eden Vauxhall (listed as taking voucher on their website) - man on parts counter goes off to check and comes back to tell me I have to have some service work to use it and directs me to service desk. Luckily for me the service manager is on the desk, who I know from some previous gearbox problems. No problem he says you can use it at parts counter and has a word with the parts staff. Different parts man come out and does honor the voucher but explains he will lose the £40 as only service can claim it back and not parts.

So good that they honored the voucher, but it does seem to be problematic!

Anyone else have an easier experience?
