Title: Time For Her To Go....
Post by: Markie on 08 May 2008, 15:57:28
Confirmation today that i will have my change of plates complete by next Friday - Private plate off Miggy and onto Jaggy

So the MV6 is now available for sale, going on ebay at the weekend and on autotrader too.

Meantime ive started a thread in the for sale section with pictures to follow when i get home....

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1210257758/0#0

Many on here have seen the car, some will fondly remember it as the car Stevie Wonder washed at the lakes `07.

Possibly the most challenging sale i have had to make ...car or otherwise.

And Yknow what - dont know if my Jag will get dropped in the future ( i have no plans) but I have this vivid image of there being a 3.2 MV6 in the fleet in years to come...either i will return or the wifes getting an upgrade  ::)

Good luck with the sale Markie, lets hope the Jag proves to be just as reliable as your MV6 has been ;)

Yeah as soon as he realises how much Jag parts are!  Its the main reason I have an omega and not a jag, was looking for a cheap jag and stumbled on my meega...  :y

Oh come on  ::) its a mondeo after all ::) so theres no difference in Ford V Vauxhall main dealer prices  :-X

Anyway - Theres forums apparently that assist in fixing cars...What makes you think its going anywhere near a Jag Dealer or Jag Dealer Parts if and when it requires them...

Which Mondeo has a transfer box?

Also the interior trim can do some odd things - and that is Jaguar not Ford.

Just be carefull and watch the tyre wear

Here is an example good to drive but lots of niggling faults AND a transfer box

I wasnt aware they had a known issue, best return it for a refund then.

Martin - fully aware of the issues and the chances of it happening...

Probably the same as an Omega owner knowing about pre facelift rust, or hard to get to Dis Packs, proably the same as a Rover Owner and their Head failure, or  v8 bmw and the Nikasil issue...

You pays your money and takes your chances very few cars dont have weaknesses if the transfer box goes ( and by the way the show symptoms of it long before going) then it goes...and i`ll deal with it then...:y

...oh and theres a darn good place ( Independant Jag in Brum) that replaces transfer box for under £800....

Lets face it pop the Jag on the trailer and tow it down with the Jeep and fixed in a day  :y

As long as you know, my boss has had quite a few cars and so far he has had.

Saab 9-5 new turbo then later on new engine.

X Type - new transfer box, new shocks (wear and tear), self destructing interior trim.

BMW 535 - nothing went wrong just usual tyres ect
BMW 520 - needed head recondition at stupid high mileage

I know  :y And if it goes i`ll pay it like a man - no crying over it  ;D

I did post on here on Saturday after owning the Jag for one day, about what i felt were its initial pros`s and cons. http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1209836674

Im certainly not going to start belittleing the omega but in that post i did say the Jag does some things so much better ( looks, performance, roadholding) but that immediatly it was clear my 4 year older MV6 also did somethings better ( better level of spec, better trim, more solid feeling internally)

And although the Jags not put a foot wrong - and its had a real thrashing - Ii wouldnt trust it as much as my omega - simply as i dont know it well enough yet.
Hence the MV6 is a very reluctant sale  :-/

Roadholding is good, comfort - prefer mine and a facelift Omega is definately nicer looking - in fact I'd say out of an early R32 Skyline, Focus, Megane, X Type, 318is and facelift Omega mine is the nicest looking and most comfortable of the ones I have ridden in.

My bosses car does go well but I find it noisy and not a relaxed cruiser, and me being wide I find the seats not overly comfortable.

The scariest thing has been his bills for repairs.

He would love an XF which does look nice and is a good replacement for the S Type, but we need more sales and the price to drop a lot.

Also please remember that we are concerned for other members and we want you to go in eyes open - this is why I have mentioned it.

And you may find that the reliability scares have helped the purchase price
