Any one got one , are they any good.
Thinking of getting one to keep in the car, ideally would be nice to find a recharable version.
Welcome any comments.
TIA

I have a rechargeable one made by ring, its a superb torch but it cost £48 :o

I've bought a couple of 28 LED torches on Ebay & they are very good for the price.

I've an LED inspection light made by Black & Decker. It's bloody fantastic. Last for ages on a full charge, because LED's use less power.
Very bright too 8-)

Gotta be worth a go for a fiver!

Do be aware that LED torches are ok for general use but, they do not pick out the detail well as they are effectively only 3 narrow bandwidth colours of light (Red/Blue/Green).
I do use one but, I also have a filament maglight to see detail with.

Bit overkill with 100 led's
With the newer LED technology you only need 1 LED have a search for Luxeon

I just fancied something basic to keep in the car, the inspection lamp sounds a good idea, I just want it there for basic needs like changing a wheel in the middle of no where.
-
I bought a wind-up torch to keep in the car for emergencies, 1 minute of winding gives about 30 mins of use. Cost less than a fiver and never needs batteries. :y

Sounds interesting. :y :y

I have a fetish for led torches :-*
We get some cheapy metal bodied ones at work for about 50p, mint. Only a few LED's mind, I have one in the car also, works and lasts well.

I bought a couple of years ago a 6 led torch from Halfords, you can select 1 or 3 or 6 leds on and i think they still sell em.
The reason i mention it coz you can use it like a normal torch plus press a button and the body of it spreads out in a tripod so it will stand up and you can also swivel the light direction.
Handy for when you need both hands! :y
The batteries fit inside the legs of the tripod, each leg takes 3 x AAA batteries, so 9 in total, but it will work with 3/6/9 batteries fitted.
Bearing in mind i use it for jobs on the Omega sometimes, i also use it for dog walking, so during winter months every day for about 30 mins a day........i have 9 batteries fitted and they last 12 months with all 6 leds on :y

I have one that you can shake to recharge. Make sure no-one is watching from behind when you do, though, because they could get the wrong idea. :o
I agree that the light, although seemingly bright, is not ideal for everything.
