Post by: 2boxerdogs on 04 March 2013, 23:01:31
Hi the 2.6 is due for an oil change soon,it has the paper type at present, I have read on here that you can convert to the normal spin off type.Is the conversion kit available from the dealer if it is does anyone know the part number & what it should cost?

Yes it's available from a dealer.
Although it's hard to call one £10 adapter and a screw-on filter a 'kit'!
I've got the part number somewhere; if no-one else finds it before I get home at the weekend, I'll pass it on.

Yes I done mine a few months back so much better than the element type,  :y some numpty had overtightened the cap on the element before I had the car and it damaged the canister  >:( >:( I can't find the part number but if you go to your local dealer and tell them what you want they will know.  :y

I believe the adapter is PN90412159 and you will need some thread lock.

Whats wrong with the paper element type? Less chance of leaking, and less messy when changing  :-\
