Oh, I used to run AVG free and Security Essentials together. Now I only run Security Essentials at home. I preferredSecurity Essentials as it appeared to pick up more problems than AVG.

Not sure what to do now  :(

Hmmm I am deeply suspicious of these. They tend to almost always find things just to make you paranoid

I still prefer Avast to AVG as it's less resource hungry :y

Agreed - use to use AVG long while ago, been using Avast now for a few years together with Malwarebytes.

I wear 2 pairs of underpants to get around the problem - my essentials are thus secure

Back on topic, MSE is good at finding real world stuff, not so great at day 0 stuff. That said, by day 1, its normally updated.

Is a AV product first and foremost, so I use Malwarebytes to check for non-viral malware, though it never finds much of consequence.

I recommend it as the others, free and commercial, are too bloaty now.  And I do use my own recomendations.

Obviously, with XP and lower, the best thing you can do to reduce risk is run as a Limited User. Don't worry, it will not affect your penis size. For Vista and later, leave UAC enabled and on default or higher setting.
