Title: Overseas students career opportunities
Post by: Rods2 on 07 March 2013, 17:00:30
At our local Co-op convenience store there are two Filipino girls that work part time there and are now both heavily pregnant. If the father is a UK resident then this entitles them to stay indefinitely with social housing and full benefits.

From what I have read this is now a popular career move by overseas student girls. Pay nothing in and get loads of money back.

Is it any surprise that our ever increasing welfare bill, which is not affordable and a big part of the country's deficit problem.

The biggest tragedy is that there are many honest British families that due to high taxation can't afford to start a family, in part by these freeloads taking advantage.

I'm also sure that some of the people on here that have struggled to get the treatment they need on the NHS are also not happy at such freeloaders consuming NHS budgets.

Rods2 I think you are assuming a lot on this one! ::) ::) ::)

So the  girls are working; not good in your book then?  Pregnant; well so are thousands of other women right across our society. "If" the fathers are resident in the UK etc, etc; you know they are?  Not normal hard working British men then involved? No, that would spoil the argument! ::) ::) ::)

Yes, I do not want people coming to the UK and claiming benefits as soon as they step off the plane, but let us stop the building up of anger and resentment which can so easily get out of control and blind us to what actually happens within the majority of society.  I think our home grown young ladies having babies without support from a partner is far more worrying!

Yet another thread on this Forum that is full of perceived "fact" with plenty of doom and gloom. ::) ::) ::)

That's an interesting stance you've taken there Rods, seeing as I believe that you have a foreign wife living in Ukraine with whom you have a child?  ::)

Have you not secured British passports for your wife and child?  ???  and what happens if Ukraine goes tits up?  :-\  Would you not move heaven and earth to bring them here, because for all its faults which we love to bitch about, I can think of much worse places than dear old Blighty to live!  ::)

I would say that Rods position is completely different to the situation being described and is his business and not any one else's....bit of a cheap shot IMO ::)

It wasn't intended as a 'cheap shot' Nitro and Rods has in the past shared his family's situation and intentions with us, so it's not like I'm stirring or anything.  ::)

In fact I admire Rods for his plans to emigrate to Ukraine as it sounds quite exciting!!  :)  However being the part of the world it is, at some stage it may well become a little too exciting and Rods might decide that good old Blighty is a better place for him and his family to be!  ;)  Things change and often we have to alter course in life!  ::)

If that were to happen I'm sure he would be angered and appalled if someone ignorant of their life, was to assume that his wife was here for a council house and benefits!  ;)
