Over the years there have been some really stupid car names and people get paid to think them up.
I've just got a email from Opel asking me if i want to be one of the first to view their new supermini named "ADAM" what a name.
What next Eve, Margaret, Derrick and Clive, Pete and Dud.
Can see the scene now. Having a few pints in the pub when one of your mate asks "what you driving these days" Oh am driving Adam, Gay or what.
Going to service Adam tomorrow, Just tinkering with Adam, Just giving Adam a polish.
Just as bad as Richard Hammond calling his Opel Kaddet "Oliver"

A strange name indeed! :D :D :D ;)

Adam was Opel's first name ...... ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opel
Only the same as an Enso or an Edsel :y

That's interesting Andy. Still a stupid name for a car though.

Nissan had some daft names in their time ...... didn't they have a Cedric ???

Wasn't that a import model. Funny how the Japanese and Chinese use English names to make their products sound better in their own countries

;D
Isn't it to market those same products to English speaking/Western countries (of which there are quite a few)?!

Quite surprised it doesn't end with an A like the rest of the Vauxhall cars for the last 25 years
-
The gent himself is embodied in a bronze statue outside the formal "station/showroom" entrance to the GM plant in Russelsheim - where all our Omega's were built.
So, although miles apart from an Opel Adam, they were all very close to Adam Opel at the time they left his production line :y

Adam looks a little bit french.

The name is the least of its worries. It looks the same as a Fiat 500!!!!

Kia recently were in the news recently for naming a concept car the 'Provo', bit of cultural insensitivity there I think! ::)
