Title: citylink retards.
Post by: ffcgary1 on 08 March 2013, 17:16:35
Two weeks ago i ordered some poly bushes for my jeep from superpro and they were sent the following day, I know this as i had a confirmation email from citylink to say that they were in the system as they call it.
Following on from then i have recived absoluty zero in the way of goods being deliverd to my address, so i finaly got thet tracking system to accept my tracking number this afternoon only to find that they have made repeated attempts to deliver to my address and suprise suprise no body was in to recive the goods. No sh** sherlock i was at work, but here is the rub they claim to have left a card on each of the attempts to inform me they tried. >:(
Well they are lying tards No cards, and on one date they claim i was in at the time of claimed call.  LYING TARDS.
and i have just told them so, >:( so to make sure i get them i now have to go to the depot to collect as they are refusing to attempt any further delivery to my address. >:( >:( >:(
I suppose the lying tard of a driver is fed up of banging his wheels up onto the pavement blocking the footpath to walk up my path of 6ft to my door. AAHH POOR SOD.!!! ???
Fumes out of my ears,  calm down lad, dark room needed....... Rant nearly over. :o

Claims of cards through the door?  Then you where in on one attempt?

That strikes me as though they may have tried to deliver to the wrong address! ::) ::) ;)

Ive been using UKMail recently, quite impressed so far.
I give special instruction to leave the parcel in the recycling bin (making sure its not on a Monday as thats when the recycling lorry comes). I also have to state its at my risk (as the parcels are supposed to be signed for)

So far, parcels left in recycling bin  :y :)

Officially, TNT do NOT deliver to or collect from private addresses  :y

Of course, if you had actually read their terms and conditions, you would already know that ::)

My neighbours and I have a simple solution to deliveries, it is either a note on the door to leave parcels at No 2,3,5 or 6 if out, or put the delivery address as number 8 (7). I suppose that having 8 houses in the close and 4 of them retirees it is easy. :y

Another thing we do is club together for wireless broadband and share the connections :y :y

I could relate what happened to a delivery of mine earlier in the week. Hermes were the errrrrrrr.....courier. I won't go into details cause it will bring back the dizzy spells, but they are, indeed, RETARDED MORONS.

On the other hand, I had an experience with yodel today. Thoroughly efficient and friendly.

it`s frustrating when things go wrong.
My understanding is that their scanners now incorporate a camera.
When they fail to deliver, in theory a foto of your front door is captured & a card is left. In practise they assume, because of the prior notification you received; that you will be actively tracking the shipment concerned & spotting that an attempt was made to deliver. So Contacting the depot etc etc. Anyway that`s what I do. I try to include my mobile number in the address section too, occasionally a switched on courier person will notice this & make a call. Or just get the parts delivered to your place of work.
ask these bod`s what the letters stand for....... I`ve had the following replys
DHL = Don`t Have Lunch.
UPS = Un Paid Slaves.
TNT = Tried but Not Today.
Yodel = YOur DELivery

Tnt made my store man go 50miles to their depot becuase he sent a parcel with them in a box which used to have brake cleaner in it. It had flammable on the side and they quarantened it. And refused to move it unless he covered the stickers up.

You got nothing to worry about. I purchased something from the USA on Ebay using the International Postage service. They sort customs supposed to get it to you quick. Well Mines out for delivery already going by the tracking number. However it says Elsmere. Which suggest it's made it to the UK.....em....no That's Elsmere Kentucky  :-[ :-[ I'm so pleased I used my Visa Card. Can see me needing to claim it back

Well, I send out quite a few parcels a week.

Used to use City-Link until a few major, I mean HUGE, cock-ups, and ended up having a major telephonic bust-up with . .  " customer services".

Tried TNT, way too expensive and really crap online booking set-up. Been using Interlink for over a year or so. Nice fixed rate price, and easy online booking and tracking.  :y So far so good  ;) ;)

Deal with couriers all the time-TNT/City link/UPS/FedEX/DPD etc-and you always get the odd t*at. Luckily the same drivers tend to do same route so you get to know them and build up a relationship with them and the vast majority are good guys. Yes, they arent well paid and can be under a lot of pressure to get all their drops done in time but there is no excuse for them blatantly lying. Despite many of them having "big brother " cameras now, you still get the odd one who'll ring our bell, wait for all of 2 seconds (they should wait for 5 minutes min ) before shoving a (doubtless pre-written) "Sorry we missed you" card through the gate and then claim they waited for 10 minutes! >:(I hear enough moaning from them about arranged collections that they cant get because no-one was in so they must know what it feels like themselves. A few well chosen words to their depot manager usually does the job I find :y

I picked up said bushes this morning from city link wimbledon depot, spotty oik with no personality greeted me at the collection counter with a grunt,
ME, Hi, i am here to collect a parcel you failed to deliver to my home address on three occasions!

Spotty oik,  Ok have you got the card put through the door with a ref No on it,

Me, No card was put through the door, sorry.

Spotty oik,  No card? Nothing? Grunt Grunt.

Me, No

Spotty oik, Have you got the ref no that you would have been given by the driver? Grunt.

Me, No have not seen the driver, i was at work on 2 of the attempts to deliver.

Spotty oik, why did you not recive the parcel on the other attempt to deliver? Grunt.

Me, i was in at the stated time, but the driver did not call at my address or failed to get out of the van to ring my bell.!!!!

Spotty oik, Grunt, Have you called to say you are colllectng it from here today? Grunt.

Me, Yes, i spoke to your customer services yesterday afternoon and made arrangements

Spotty oik, Grunt.

At this point he he dissapears back into the warehouse for a couple of mins and emerges with a more evolved humun being.

Intelligent person, whats your post code mate,?
Me cr4 ***

Intelligent person, ok got it there you go, sorry about that but the driver who had the round to your address, was sacked yesterday for signing for goods and delivering to his mate and then bringing half the drops back undelivered. your not the first to collect from this guys route today.

Me, How did you catch him?

Intelligent person, there were too many complaints about non delivery on his round so HO had him followed and caught him in the act.

So it is as i thought, retard of the highest order, but i got my goods thats what matters and i hope i never have to deal with the spotty oik again. Why do they imploy these people, cant they see that to be able to face a customer and deal with inquires that they must have first marstered the art of the english languge.
England is Doomed.

Nice one!! :y :y :y :y

So the truth came out and you have been proved right against a faceless bunch of xxxxxxs! 8) 8) 8) 8)

That is what you call a result.  Now ask for compensation for wasted phone calls, time and your journey to their depot, plus an apology in writing for how you were originally treated when complaining.  Go for the jugular!  I would! :D :D ;) ;)

I think I have used all the possible couriers in the last couple of years, and dont have much good to say about any of them.Shittylink deseve special mention as they just dont seem to think they have any obligation to deliver when they say they will.
The two who have told me outright lies are parcel2go and Parcelfarce.
I had a major problem with parcel2go,and they just lied over and over for months until I finally gave up and went away.I told them I would never ever use them again and I havent/wont.
Parcelfarce, similar to Gary.My car was dismantled to change cambelt and waterpump.Seller sent pump guaranteed next day delivery. It didnt arrive. It was a friday and I spent most of the weekend trying to contact them with no joy.
On Monday I found out that they had my package listed as "attempted delivery 5pm Friday". I knew this wasnt true,as not only was I at home, but I was at the front of my house all afternoon.
Spotty oik delivered pump on Monday afternoon.Tried to tell me he had tried to deliver it Friday 5pm. Asked him why he hadnt put a card through the door.He said he had run out of cards.I could see it in his eyes he was lying through his teeth.I called him a lying little shit and slammed the door.Told seller what had happened and he said he wouldnt be using them again. ::)

It was City-Link delivering my dehumidifier a month ago. Got the standard e-mail confirming delivery date, waited in all day.. 'Nothing'. Got on the phone over the weekend gave poor souls the other end an ear-bashing. Guaranteed delivery Monday morning. We are only 2 miles from their depot. 2pm Monday, phone City-Link. 'Where's my parcel'?  'Rant, rant, rant'. I'll check with the driver now and get back to you. Never did, parcel arrived at 3.40pm. Dealt with customer services was given a choice by a very nice young man, would you like me to find out the reason, or are you happy now you have your package to, let it go'? I would like a reason please. I'll get back to you... 3 days later an e-mail... ' delivery could not take place due to pressure of backlog'... hmmmmm? Caused no doubt by their drivers not bothering to deliver...  ;)

city link have trackers fitted and they can check the location of any driver at any time, ashamed to say that they are a sister company of intial/rentokill,as i work for intial washrooms, and every van on all the fleets have trackers fitted apart from if its a hire van.

There in lies the problem :-\ alot of drivers with no real interest, being paid per delivey/collection and penalised for every failed delivery. As with every system people try and play it to their advantage. The stupid ones get caught out eventually, every single time. The brighter ones don't bother because they appreciate what is at stake if they were to get caught...
