I've just been informed by one of our company directors that as I'm a senior manager I can now put my Omega on the Company's fleet insurance - what a touch. :y :y As my own policy doesn't run out until November I phoned my insurer to find out how I stand with cancellation. Apparently I can cancel at any time but they work out a cancellation charge based on how much I've already paid and what is left to pay. It works out that my charge will be about £25, so don't mind that at all.
Perhaps I'd better do the lottery this weekend!! ::)

Y`know...thinking about it, i havent paid a mobile phone bill in 6 years.
As a work perk i get free unlimited calls, texts and all the other thingys mobiles now do...
... but it somehow doesnt excite me as much as free car insurance :-/

Ah yes, you can't beat the odd perk!! :y Mind you that's another of my work perks - company supplies the phone and pays line rental and because we have so many free minutes and texts my monthly phone bill's about £2.00. ;)

its a nice gesture Bob, but be wary mate when you come to the time when you have to buy your own nsurance again many companies will say you have not got any no claims bonus, as they dont recognise company insurance as qualifying for ncb and yours lapses if you dont hold a policy for i thik 3 years
just a thought for you to ponder

Yep I'm well wise to that but these days its not a problem. If you go back from company insurance to having your own insurance, all you need is an official letter from the company fleet manager that you have been driving on company insurance without any claims and your NCB remains intact. I know because I've done this for several of our ex-employees. :y
-
Yes, I have done that in the past as well. :y

nice one bob it might go towards making you feel better over your door mirror :y :y :y :y :y

I opted out of the comapny car scheme and get 10% of my salary instead. My fuel is all paid for on a fuel card.
I waited 6 months, then used the cash to buy my Miggy, evey month I get about £350 after tax to spend on insurance, road tax and toys for the car. Effectively it is a bit like having a company car, but with the freedom to play with it.
There is the risk, obviously that the insurance is in my name and therefore if I do prang it goes on my own no-claims, but still the deal's a good 'un! :y
In another 2 year's the option comes back up to opt in or out, I may opt in and take a comapny car and put the Miggy on the drive for special occasions.
