Title: Custom boot badge and a few other bits..
Post by: Deuce on 13 March 2013, 18:39:11
Last few months I resprayed my rear spoiler  again. Better shine this time but slightly darker than before, but it looks fine.

Made some rear side window blinds which look good but need a bit more work before I post some pictures.

Fitted my rear parking sensors , 2 off, into my nice new rear number plate.

Debadged the car. But didn't want to remove the boot logo and leave holes. So I made my own logo to put over it. (patented, lol  ;D)

A bit tongue in cheek. Omega sign.

This pic taken before I did a final skew on the sign. (looks a bit wonky)

Debadged and blinds. But Omega not fitted yet in this picture. Not really good light to see blinds, but when I've finished them I'll show how I made them.

Cheers, it was easy to make.

I used a wheel hub logo. I suppose you can use any as it will be painted, as long as it's 70mm to fit inside the existing badge.

I got a BMW sticky back wheel centre from ebay.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170880851734?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2648

I then painted it with filler primer hoping to cover the slightly raised BMW. But it didn't work. I could have filled over but it isn't noticeable with the chrome omega over it. Then painted star silver. I think it would loiok good in black as well but I had some silver left over. Then clearcoated which is still awaiting a rub down and wax.

The Omega sign? I spent months trying to find a suitable chrome logo.

In the end a bright idea did the job. The logo is actually a chrome letter C turned on it's side, lol  ;D Got it from a hardware store and it comes with pins on the back to hammer onto a front door. I just shaved them of and used some double sided tape trimmed to shape and voila!!
