On your PB page, to the right is a box with the header "image links". Hover over grey box to the right of "IMG code". Click mouse, box will go yellow and say "copied". Back onto OOF thread then right click mouse and "paste".

That's shocking, excuse the pun.

Friend of mine last year had to replace because of hitting a pot hole: Tyre, alloy, entire coilover, top mount, it pushed it through the top mount, into the bonnet which dented from the inside out, and his windscreen, it also genuinely chipped his tooth  :o :o.

Can you claim from the council? Mind you they would probably argue that the shockers were "aged".

Only if it has been reported,  ::) and they would say it hasn't  >:( and then it would be down to me to ask everybody in Kent if they have reported it.  >:( >:(

I reported similar damage to my astra and repair work came to £180 , council threw the claim out the window  even with full documented picture evidence  >:( >:( >:(

I had the same problem last month, but i was lucky my top mount sheared off and the upper rod went through the mounting hole without doing any damage, mine is an estate 2 new kyb gas ajust shocks cost me £60 with the dreaded vat.

That is some damage, and I am surprised that more wasn't done apart from that and the tyre. :o :o :o :o  I certainly would want to check out the wheel bearing and steering rods. ;)

Essex county council is throwing out all pot hole claims as they say you could have done the damage anywhere and just taken a picture of a pot hole. Scum suckers

Well the pot hole inspector has been round the roads with his yellow spray can  ::) Picking at random the worst ones ... its an absolute disgrace how these roads have gone to pot over the last 3 years , i should imagine pot hole man has a job for life .

I was driving down a narrow road near home last night, car coming from the opposite direction.Braked, steered to the left hand edge of the road to give him room, then BANG.Hit a deep pothole while suspension was compressed.
Immediately noticed the unmistakeable rumble of a deflated tyre.
Used a can of tyreweld which was pretty useless, but allowed me to slowly limp the last mile home.It was dark and wet,so dont know yet if Ive damaged anything else.
So,a new tyre (at least) needed. :'(

Maybe our road tax could be a solution to fixing the pot holes  ::) ;D You have to laugh about this country's priorities .

Thats because over the last 20 odd years all they have done is to spray that tar s*%t and put down chippings and not rectfy the cracks or problems  >:( >:( I remember when they would scrape off a layer and repair before laying a new surface and then it lasted years, it was a lot more to do but saved money in the long run as it was done properly to last.  ::) ::) Also when you see them patching bodging they scrape out and lay the cold asphalt in the hole that is wet and full of crap  ::) ::) so how on earth do they expect it to last more than the next rainfull and freeze.  >:( >:( >:(

Looks like SL shock. These seem to corrode badly in places, I wonder if thats a factor as well, pothole being last straw...
