Sebastian Vettel led a Red Bull 1-2 in the second free practice session
Noooooooo. :'( :'(
I was hoping for an interesting season. ;)
-
I tend not to take too much notice of the times in practice, especially at the start of the season. With so little testing, they'll be alot of shake downs and sand bagging going on. :y
Either that, or I'm talking complete rubbish because I'm hoping Mr Button comes good this year, and a Red Bull 1-2 is not what I want to be seeing!! ::) ;D
-
F1 is always interesting, always. Even when its boring, relatively. :)
It could of course be more interesting. Early days. :)
-
I see the Kimi quote of the week has started.
Do you miss Michile Schumacher? ...turns, looks, smiles, sniggers, "no....?" bemused smile, turns and walks off with slight head shake amongst bemused on lookers. ;D
-
Totally agree Chris, I always thoroughly enjoy watching it, even when the races are described a 'boring'
You should have heard SWMBO's reaction when she asked if I had any plans for this weekend, and replied 'Yep, it's the first race of the new F1 season!'
Not impressed... ::) ;D

It is, IMO, mind boggling, how quick they are. I love it. Also means summers coming and motor sport comes out of hibernation.
I always think sky+/recording f1 is a solution to a more productive weekend. But I always forget that the media ALWAYS spoil the result before I get to watch it. :(
Turn on the tv ...or radio(by starting the car), the result will be on the news before I have a chance to turn over. AAAAAAH ;D ::)

I always Sky+ the race so that I can watch it when it suits me, and also skip through the bloody adverts. I have the same problem as you with someone spoiling the result. Until I watched the whole race, I refuse to have the radio on at home or in the car. And I refuse to answer the phone to my mother, as she simply cannot keep her mouth shut! >:( ::)

We are committed then. .....Or perhaps should be? ;D :)

Better to travel in hope than arrive in despair. I suspect he still won't be top performing dog in the team this year.. ;D ;D ;D ;D

cant wait not enough motorsport on telly as fare as in concernsd :y :y :y

Snap, I got that too ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D
Only the highlights for me tho' and it's only practice so far, but never trust a Huey ::) ::)

I fear you may be right mate, but I can but hope. ::)
At the end of the day, if this season is as good as last year, I'll be hooked all the way to Brazil! :y

SWMBO wasn't impressed when I said I'd be setting an alarm Sunday :-X ::)

Red Bull have been seriously sandbagging in winter testing.Signs at the moment are that Adrian Newey is going to win the title again.
I doubt Mclaren will be in the hunt this year. Alonso will probably be the fly in the Red Bull ointment if anyone can be.
If the Lotus is a bit quicker - relatively - Kimi could well cause a shock or two.I certainly hope so. As ever, time will tell.
-
According to my mum I've been watching since I was 3 and will put off kicking the bucket if there is a race that weekend ;)

Agreed - and when it is it's 15 mins of highlights
Motors TV Uk does make up for it though. Sure it's produced in someone's garage (not Twiggy's though)

Agreed
Alonso and Kimi are the best "all round" drivers out there and our only good hope of annoying Newey's car's. Although the McLarens and Mercedes should be good car's Button and Hamilton do have their "bad luck" and gremlins
-
Glad I didn't get up early for qualifying! ::) ::)
-
Rain stopped play! ::) ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;)

Wet weather tyres?
Best time of two "hot" laps. One car at a time. Run on car number.
That would have given us an interesting grid.
OR wait till good weather............ ;D ;D
-
I always thought that the order in which they were when the session was stopped once qualifying had started determined the grid position ???
Or is that only if they get to qualifying three ???

I think that apply's to the old hour long qually sessions.

Hamilton did well :y
Think that writes off what a lot say about him, imagine what he would do in Mark Webbers position & car.
Got to hand it to Vettle, always pulls it out of the bag, but he is a lucky man being in the best car in the field, again!

thats not 1oo % right as most times he blows webber away and they are in the same car.

But Webber is no Hamilton. Pop him in Mark's car, should spice things up :)

Well, that wasn't boring after all! :)
Well done Kimi..and Lewis (who would have struggled if he'd been driving a McLaren) :y
-
Well done Kimi, as was said on BBC, you wouldn't have put a bet that result. Strategy and good tyre use won that
The Alonso and Vettel result intrigues me. Both on same strategy and Alonso beats Vettel, who started from pole, by 12 sec's. Good pit stop strategy helped but also he just had good pace. That has got to put the wind up Mr Newey's team.
Force India seem to be the emerging team but where the heck where Sauba and Williams
Lewis did well in the end and Button/Perez did better than expected on the day, but not good enough for that team
Will repeat what I wrote earlier, Kimi and Fernando are my go-to guy's to make this season interesting
-
Nice clean overtaking.
Good start for Hamilton/Mercedes.
Raikkonen - class. Two words I never thought I would use together.
Bring on the next one.
