Title: Warrington Bombing.
Post by: Drewomega on 16 March 2013, 20:01:22
It is now 20 years since the Warrington bombing.
I was involved with the troubles in NI between 1976-1977 and what a sh1thole it was at that time.
The people directly involved (allegedly!) with that atrocity are now active with the northern irish/british government.
I know for a fact that the troubles in NI are not quite over and that the media are being gagged.
I am sure that someone from that part of that beautiful country on this forum will either back me up or give us a more detailed and wider perspective on the situation there.

In the meantime I wish the families of Jonathan Ball and Tim Parry closure and that peace continues.

I echo that sentiment entirely .
And as a Scotsman living in deepest SW Ireland am too far away to comment on the situation there .

I have read a fair amount of Irish history going back 600 years, and I lived, albeit in England during the most recent troubles.  However I still do not really know how the Irish in the Republic, and those in Northern Ireland see themselves, their history and their future. So as an English women I cannot comment on the whole affair as I am too distant, yet too close, from what is very recent history and am ignorant on all the many complex issues involved, then and still now.

What I can do though is follow the OP by praying for all those across the divide who have died, including those in Warrington AND Birmingham, let alone everywhere else, and wish ALL those living throughout the whole of Ireland a peaceful and prosperous future.

RIP :'( :'( :'( :'(   and all the very best to all the living :y :y :y
