169 euros.(about£135) Just had my renewal. Only a few euros more than last year. Unbelievably the car tax here is set by local councils so varies from town to town. They keep the money.
Those increases in Britain are monstrous.

Sorry, Albatross, but I think you're wrong for the 2009-2010 year. From March 2009, the 3.2 will be in the Band M, and will cost £440 for 12 months. The pre-March 2001 registration exemption no longer applies from 2009. Thieves!! >:(

I'm not too bad under the new VED rises. My DTi is in band J which means in 2010 mine will go up from £205.00 which is what it is now to £270.00.
I feel for you guys with the later V6's. Just typical of this so called government >:(

Nick
I read it be that all pre-march 2001 vehicles will be kept in the two car tax bands - under 1549cc and over 1549cc.
The increases from 09/10 only apply to vehicles registered after March 2001 but before 23 March 2006.
Best keep to an older MV6!

Sorry, Tunnie, you're right - it must be the heat. ;) I meant that the new regime of £440 applies to all vehicles first registered after March 2001 (from 2009). Before then, all vehicles registered before 23 March 2006 remain in Band F.
But, surely Albatross' example of a 3.2V6 first registered in 1 June 2001 showing the 2009-2010 rate of £300 must still be wrong - it should be £440 (Band M).

Nick,
It's not me that's wrong buddy. I am absolutely on the nail accurate in my answer to the question asked, which was:
ACCORDING TO http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/road-tax/?deriv=20769
How much tax are you due to pay?
Now according to that site the figures I quote are exactly what it tells me.
So I am not wrong, parker may be, but that is different.
Nathan
-
Nathan,
Nothing personal, mate. I merely referred to you as you posted the Parkers figures.
The reason the figures didn't look quite right to me is that I have a post March 2001 V6 and I had already checked the amounts here:
http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/faq.htm?id=20
Either Parkers are wrong or Honest John is wrong. Tunnie seems to agree with me that a V6 emitting more than 255 CO2 will be in Band M from March 2009.
Damned confusing system. Should be (and hopefully will be) scrapped.
Nick

No offense taken, and I see your point.
I suppose I'll find out for sure when I actually go down to the post office and try to tax the car.

Funny you should say that ..... apparently they are discussing one right now >:(
