Yep, a funny man....
The comedy world is a much much sadder place since his demise.... :'(
-
;DHe had a perspective on day today life that we can all relate to.
Much admired & missed.

One of the best comedians EVER ...
"Where ever you are .. may your god go with you ..."
:y :y :y :y

I loved his take on the Catholic Church in general, particularly all the Papal sketches.
-
My very personal opinion, if he was relaunched today in the current PC correct climate, he would crash and burn in a very short space of time. And the world would still be a very sad place as a result.

As would many other comedians /sitcoms from the 60/70's.
Not that i remember of course! :)

When you think about it, a hell of a lot of all time fave programs wouldn't pass the PC censor nowadays.
A good few Python sketches spring instantly to mind along with Fawlty Towers (Don't mention the war) et al.

Very true.
In my defence, I think that some (Alf Garnet, On the Buses, Rising Damp and similar) would also fail the censor rules but others such as Dave Allen would pass muster under the 'father ted' exclusion.... ;)

Still funnier than most of the tripe served up as entertainment nowadays though.
God I'm beginning to sound like me dad. ;D ;D
