Sky on Demand downloads alot of data. Sky charge for that data obviously. £12.50 a month for unlimited package.
But we already have an unlimited package with O2 that we do not pay for, I don't know how to do it, but I'm sure the sky router could be set up to download from the O2 router instead via wifi, can't be Ethernet, the routers are at opposite ends of the house. Then we can knock the sky subscription down to minimum and it would then be free, no charge from sky, saving £12.50 a month.
How do I do that first of all? Both are wifi networks.
Second question, the above issue got me thinking. Is it possible to combine the two networks into one? Ie we get 4gb download from sky, and 5Gb from O2. Can those two accounts be combined to give a 9gb download network to one via wifi. ? Guessing not.
I have googled, but I don't think I'm using the correct terms. :-\
How can I best combine these two Networks?

Connect them up with a 225/55/17 type modem.

Don't think it can be set to switch between them automatically but I just bought a £20 wireless bridge to connect our Sky, TV and Blue Ray to the router without running cables :y
Oh... And how do you cope with such small allowances? We struggled at 10Gig so upgraded to 40 Gig before connecting sky box up and regularly get close to it :o

Those are the download Mbps speeds. Both are "unlimited" on allowance. One we pay for, Sky. One we don't, O2.
Neither are particularly quick.
If we downgrade to the free package, the allowance is gone after 10days. ;D

I assume Sky will allow you to connect via another provider's internet connection (and that that provider don't block sky traffic?) That would be the first thing to check.
How does the sky box currently connect to the internet? Does it have wireless LAN? I though sky set top boxes just have wired ethernet?
TBH, I'd hook up the Sky box with a cat5 cable to the other connection for a month or so and see if it works as a first step. Run the cable round the skirting boards and live with it.
If it seems to work Ok, if it were me, I'd consider installing a permanent cat 5 cable. The Sky box will be maxxing out your WLan (and maybe even the internet connection - hence live with it and see if it works) on a regular basis and this might make your web browsing, etc. a bit slow.
Failing that, a bridged wireless LAN connection will do the job. I'd see if it works before you spend too much though. Be happy to pop over and lend a hand while you change my rear bushes if you like? ;)

Assuming the two lines aren't on the same physical line, you could have them "bonded" but it would mean getting rid of sky and O2 as the provider and going with one individual provider (and prob not one of the main well known ones). This in simple terms gets the router to see two lines as one and add the capabilities down and upstream together. it is a bit more complex than that, and there are limitations, the main one being finding a provider to support the solution, but it would achieve what you wondered about.

Bit confused, you have "Sky" branded Broadband? With a router?
But you also have O2 Broadband? (which is Sky anyway)
In your EPG guide, you've setup your Sky box to connect to your O2 router? This via WiFi?
There are two types of routers for the boxes, WiFi & non WiFi. If you want to switch to a wired connection, you need another one.
Otherwise just set the box to connect to your O2 Router?
And yes Sky allows all ISP's for On-Demand :y

Mine is over WiFi bridge to BT Homehub. We only have 1.2 meg at best and it copes, although we have to download films from on demand a good 8 hours before we want to watch them ::)

You can start watching while it's downloading. Although that download speed is a bit crap. You'd probably catch the download up. ;D

Bonded...? See I'd never of known to google that term/phrase... Do you think that could work if both lines where switched to fibre? We'd really be cooking then. :)

You need a good router to bond. I bond my 2 for a laugh when the 2nd fibre line was fitted, downloading at well over 120Mbps.
1 fibre line is enough for your needs.

I've only ever had to bond lines when fibre, (in days gone by as a leased line) wasn't available, if you can get fttc now then it's not really worth considering bonding.
As a side note, if you do decide to google bonded, be careful on the spelling...........you can end up with some very interesting videos of teapots if you're not! :D :D
