THE boy is on his way home from Afghan after his 3rd tour :y
No injuries this time & currently in Cyprus for a couple of days R&R soaking up the sun and a few beers.
So, it's time to get out the fatted calf & celebrate in the Lincs household :y

Was that his last tour?
Well, it's the one he has just finished. Will he be going back, who knows ..... I think he has the next few months mapped out in terms of leave, training etc so we will wait and see.

Good news indeed.One of my sons-in-law is in the army and he came back from his Afghan tour last year,and a great relief it was too,so I can relate to your emotions at this time.

Well, that's straying into a politicial debate which isn't appropriate to those serving - IMHO of course, and therefore off limits for this post - please folks. The numbers are reducing, but I think there will be some UK military presence there for many more years to come.

:y :y :y great newa rob glad hes ok my worreing starts on sunday my son inlaw gose out there for his 2nd tour this time hes a bit concerned as he and my daughter became parents to our first grandaughter last April but as he says he took the queens shilling so he must do his duty shame hell be away for poppys first birthday im just glad hes got a sensible hsad on his sholders and says hell be back before we know it he says the coms are good so hell be able to see and talk to them quite often

When I came back last year through Cyprus the weather was lovely but the wine was utter crap. Although after 6 months without I still drank very single drop ;D
I sailed the s#!t out of the dinghies at the beach, although the funniest moment was watching one of the junior subalterns who had forgotten to pack civilian attire, we mashed up something from spaer clothing donated by several blokes of different sizes and som of the women too ;D ;D
