Title: Vauxhall servicing... this has to be a joke?!?
Post by: Webby the Bear on 19 March 2013, 23:32:57
Was getting my usual evening fill of Eric the Car Guy on Youtube  8) 8) 8) when I noticed a ''Master Fit'' (how ironic) advert offering services for £129 and to click for more details.

Out of interest I clicked on it and firstly the £129 is just for the small cars i.e. Corsa and gets worse if you own something bigger such as an Insignia.

But what I was mostly shocked about is how little you get for your money.

Quote

''Our Vauxhall trained technicians (tee-hee) will carry out your service using only genuine Vauxhall parts.

They'll change the oil and filter and top up the antifreeze, coolant (same thing), windscreen wash and power steering fluid. Plus they also check and adjust the tyre pressures. All this from just £129*

*Subject to Ts and Cs''

So you get an oil/filter change, some tap water and tyre pressure adjustment which is free at Sainsburys.

I ask. WTF!!!!! LOL

Yes, probably put the oil in the washer bottle.

At least they'll tighten the oil filter housing to 40000000Nm to ensure it doesn't work loose.  ::)

I just checked, on the Jeep, Mercedes 2.7L diesel engine and auto gearbox, last summer I had a full going over, Oil, Fuel, Air, filters, Oil change, Auto box oil changed, once over and MOT all for a little over £300, this year he told me I would need new discs and pads but no gearbox oil change... ;) ;)

That is really nice.  :y I bet its pure comfort inside. as I get older I really couldn't care less about performance.... comfort and toys is what I want!  ;D

3 rows of seats with 2 doors  ??? are the last set of 2 seats in the boot then....then they fold right down if boot needed?

It is pretty comfy, and although isn't too bad in the corners for a 2.3 tonne car you can't really hurry it too much, though mine has airmatic (air) suspension which gives soggy, medium & firm suspension.

Yes, the very last row of seat is in the boot area. It makes a better 4 seater estate than it does a 6 seater as far as carrying stuff. They fold flat into the floor, hence the boot floor is quite high compared to most estate cars.

This shows the seats up & down http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-Benz-R-Class-320L-SAT-NAV-LWB-BLUETOOTH-DIESEL-AUTOMATIC-2006-06-/261181256066?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3ccf9db182

That's pretty standard set up for an MPV but usually in an estate the rear seats are rear facing, typically though not luggage room if all seats are in use, even in my Citroen C4 Grand Picasso that I had, lots of passenger space but no boot if all 7 seats in use..... ;) ;)

I'm not used to mpv's but that seems like masses of room especially when seating 6  :y :y and obviously a conventional 4 + boot if needed. I really like that. I bet those seats are very comfy  8) 8) 8)

My local Vx dealer wants ninety minutes labour to change the discs and pads on a 2003 Corsa.

So that's £72 x 1.5 hours = £108. :(

I'm going to have a go myself when the weather turns. :y
