Yep abs ecu b*ggered, classic symptoms I'm afraid.
As said either go for repaired one, or good one from a breaker (needs to be same year/spec motor ideally or a chat with Tech2 required) - don't go to Vx (last I heard was £700 for part!)
Damn awkward job to swap it over due to lack of space, but diy doable (many on here have swapped them, myself included)
Howto in Maintenance section. ;)

Before condemming it, what age is car?
If its pre 1998, its probably more likely to be sensor or reluctor ring (latter is rare on Omega). If someone nearby has a code reader capable of reading abs unit, worth checking whats stored.

Still worth popping on a local member's code reader. Pissing in the wind though, but this may just be that one that isn't the ECU.

If you don't want to spend too much on it get a second hand ECU which will cost about £35 ;)

If its intermittent it points even more at the ECU ... the "fault" seems to be temperature related, and I mean the temp of the ECU internals .. :)
On mine it started as; it would work for 10 minutes, then fail for an hour then start working again.
Slowly and surely it got worse, work for 5 minutes, not work for a couple of hours - and as most trips are less than 2 hours it was, effectively, not working :(

The failure is a detached bondwire fom the ECU housing to the hybrid PCB and hence why they can be intermittent.
I always use this company:
http://www.ecutesting.com/vauxhall_vectra_omega_abs_pump.html
As they are cheaper but the service and quality is equaly as good (lifetime warranty on the repair to)
