Bit advise please my 2.2 has refused to start for the past 4 days could not see anything wrong tried agian this morning just before the garage picked it up and it started first turn of the key any ideas :(

Check codes, esp for a P0340, which is a failing cam sensor, or P0335 which is a failing crank sensor.
Whilst it should still start without one of these working, it can be troublesome

I was thinking about the cam sensor do codes need to be read with a scanner on the 2.2 first i thought the cambelt had gone (was done 3 years and 28k ago)

Check the little transponder chip inside the keyfob is not loose, if it it is superglue it back in position !
I had a similar problem on the old 2.5 ... the chip was loose and moving around inside the fob while the key was in my pocket, sometimes it was in the right place and the engine would start, other times it was obviously not and the engine would not start .. turn over beautifully, but not start .. :(
Caused some consternation to the non-english speaking French garage who also never found the problem .. :)
