Which OOFer with a good code reader/live data tester lives closest to Anglesey?
We are at our wits end with the omega, and I am seriousy now thinking about getting rid of it :(
Phil says to give it one last chance.... but I'm wary of putting it in the hands of the nearest Vauxhall dealer, as whenever we ask about parts etc, we get...... oh they are rare, we haven't had an omega in here for a very long time
Phil is in work till next Wednesday night, and then has thursday and friday ofhaving gone in to work tonight for a very early start in the morning

Whats actually the problem...looking back I can see some gearbox issues?
-
You haven't said what year the car is, but if its OBD compliant you can buy a code reader for £20, and capable of reading live data for £40.

If its gearbox related, OBDII ones may not be much use.

Get manufacturers service manual and keep reading.

2.5 is unlikely to be OBD2 isn't it?

Car is an X reg 2.5 v6 automatic
the car is running erratically
tick over is all over the place while at standstill,
it went into limp home mode last friday after a warning light came on, which we saw was something to do with the immobilizer
Phil has a code reader, but every time it comes up with a code, and Phil sors that problem out, then clears the memory, something else comes up,
one minute the car seems fine, next we are back at square 1
The gears seem to hate the 50-60 mph range, making the car judder
thanks anyway for your comments ideas. guess its just like car5car said, get a car service manual and struggle on
we were willing to travel to any member who could help out, but I am seriosly wanting to scrap it
