Don't just it the cambelt, fit the whole kit mate, and as its a 4 pot you need to change the warter pump too ;)

Aye just bought the cambelt kit for £50 delivered genuine GM not paying ridiculous VX prices even on TC (didn't see this one last time D'oh). As for water pump checked that 2 years ago (along with the belt) it seemed fine (unless anyone can suggest a cheap water pump around £20-£30 i might change it.

I should add i do very little mileage with the Omega..

Water pump on 4 pot driven by cam belt - if it "blows" so can cambelt mate.  Believe OOF recommend changing water pump with cam belt kit on 4 pots :y

Matters not how many miles you do,the old belt will have worn slack, when new kit is fitted and correctly tensioned it will load the pump bearing and could knacker it,trouble is if that happens it could take the cambelt off with obvious unhappy result.

I changed my cambelt and pulleys and forgot about the pump. anyway after about 3 months the water pump started squeaking, don't know if it was to do with the new kit putting extra tension on the pump or just coincidence. from now on I will do both regardless  :y

better to be safe than sorry :)

Yea yea yea  ::) ... All the V6's ive been to see have been S**t  :P all 11 of them apart for one 2.6 with 51,000 on the clock which had the body & interior work of a farmers vehicle but had a sweet engine.. So have decided to spend a little on this seen as its been good over the years.

Why they can't put the brand in the description is beyond me.

Whoops - you're right - its the top one QH code QCP3059 (click on the link and it confirms QH), exactly same as the one you are buying (except its only £11.86 incl VAT and not £18.24 ) - would think P&P similar for both.

Well I received the water pump today from buypartsby and I'm not sure whether or not to be disappointed or not due to receiving a different brand from what I ordered which was a QH pump but I've received a CD "Continental direct" pump  ???

Fair point tunnie, I did call prior to the post i don't just hop on here that quick to share what's going on  ;D  ..I called 5:20pm ish and all it did was ring ring ring ring ring for like 4min so put phone down. But have found out a way to email them just in case i get the same response on the phone tomorrow..

Either way this pump is going back!.. Has this happened to anyone else and has anyone had any luck with this CD brand ?

The CD brand is in fact Contitech - their timimng belt kits are recommended on here - I've fitted 3 sets now with no issues whatsoever.  Believe all their kit (incl waterpumps) are made to OE standards, but have no practical experience of their waterpumps.

Their website - http://www.continental-direct.com/ (http://www.continental-direct.com/)

Well i've never been so bloody frustraded (for a while anyway) Called them some 10-15 times trying to get an answer and eventually got someone and told them i was expecting a QH pump and they said "QH has gone into administration so you'd struggle to get any QH parts" and said "the CD continental pump is just as good if not better" and i've got to send the bloody thing back they dont do collections... >:(

QH went into administration in early Feb, so not news. :-\

They should have told you that when you ordered it, assuming of course that you actually spoke to a real live person :-\

Should also put summat on their website along lines of 'We do not guarantee to supply parts from a particular manufacturer, but can assure customers that any part supplied as an alternative is of at least the same quality' or some such gumpf :-\
