Title: I've followed the example set by Cleggy and Rods2
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 26 March 2013, 16:22:06
..............and purchased a bread maker for Mrs Opti.

At £49.99 inc p+p from Amazon, it's at the inexpensive end of the price range. However, customer reviews are good, so we are all looking forward to a warm tasty loaf.

No more soggy supermarket slop for the Opti family from now on. :y

I was looking at these the other day - for the exact same reason as you - and that was one of the models I was looking at :y The other was this: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9097966.htm

Not that I've ever heard of "Cookworks"..

Haven't pulled the pin yet as it's all rather brassic at the end of this month (damn you Ikea!), but soon..

I'm not entirely sure but I believe that cookworks are an Argos own brand. A little like George at Asda.

Anyway, for £35-£50, even if it all goes tit's up it's not a disaster. :y

Very true.

You'll have to let us all know what the first batch of bread comes out like  :)

Cookworks are a well respected brand by us cooks, that as far as I am aware are not connected to Argos.

Have a look at their web site for everything you need in the kitchen:

http://www.cookworks.ca/  (That is an USA site)  Their products are available elsewhere on the web.

As for bread makers take a look at this which report:

Well done :y  you'll enjoy the bread, tastes like it used to, and you'll be suprised how quickly you demolish a loaf :y :y :y :y :y

TIP.  When slicing the loaf place it on its side rather than upright, far easier :y

If its got a fast bake on it the bread comes out just as good as the slow bake  :) Set it for dark brown for a crispy crust , takes a good sharp knife to cut it but lovely and moist inside . Fills the house with a nice bread baker smell  8)
