Title: misfire
Post by: Arthur27 on 26 March 2013, 19:12:03
Hi, my omega 2001 2.6 auto estate has developed a misfire at low RPM, Checked error codes reading 300 AND 301, misfire on number 1 cylinder, removed the plugs 1,3 and 5 they all looked spot on, so removed 2,4 and 6. number 6 looked very sooty/black and the ignition coil/pack has rust streaks coming from it, now do I trust my gut instincts and buy a new coil pack 2,4,6 or trust the code reader and replace coil pack 1,3,5, any help appreciated, David

Well decided to buy new coil pack 2 4 6 fitted it, a slight improvement, so purchased new coil pack 1 3 5 fitted and shes running a treat, may be just unlucky that both coil packs were on the way out,  David

I think as they do the same amount of work they deteriorate at the same rate, waiting for a replacement pair for my 2.6 as I am in the same boat. Glad yours is sorted  :y
